Intercooler flow - stepped or block type

Does anyone have any info on which intercooler flows better? Which has a lesser pressure drop.
What are the pros cons on a stepped over a block?

Stepped would have more frontal surface area which has a slight pressure lose in theory.

However, the pressure losses are pretty negligible in this platform considering there is minimal lag.

I run a stepped Wagner intercooler, I bought it mainly on the fact it was a direct swap with no cutting and black for stealth. I didn't notice any more lag.
