I had it on my E90 330i for two weeks before taking it off. It was way too loud. BMW is suppose to be classy not ricey. I'm all for adding some sound to the exhaust note but a muffler delete is like mud butt from the tail pipes. I say try it if you really want to see how loud and annoying it is. The good thing is it should be cheap. No more then $150 for parts and labor.
Here is my E90 330i with a magnaflow muffler and a res delete.

if you want to sound like a ricer and roll wit the Hondas....then go for it. otherwise, get a proper exhaust system, delete the res, and roll with BMWs.
End of story.

its fun to have the delete it will or might get old after a while so having a back up plan is always good.
if you do it, keep the resonator in because it will just be too loud |

The resonator delete really makes the drone pick up from what I understand. I'm kind of tempted to delete it just to see the difference in sound but I'm gonna wait till the weather clears up a bit.

That VQ engine is just a monster with test pipes and an invidia exhaust. I drove a 350Z withat exhaust setup and damn near traded my bimmer on it. I need the AWD though. Might get one when I move out of colorado.

I don't know, its all about personal taste. I did it and had the muffler delete for less than 24 hours before I went back to the muffler shop and had them put the OEM one back on. It sounded ok but to me it just didn't fit the car for what it is. My car isn't modified whatsoever so I didn't think it fit the general profile whatsoever. I'm now looking into either the IKON muffler or the BMW PE system. I wanted the IKON because it was cheaper but the more I hear of the PE system, the more I want it. I think its the way to go.

It all comes down to the piping and the tips you use imo. Even something as simple as the pipe material can change the acoustics of the exhaust note.
Master, that has to be the best muffler delete I've heard to date.
