X7 M50i exhaust
Are there exhaust valves that can be disconnected?

There are exhaust valves which can be disconnected but I'm not sure it's necessary. There is an exhaust setting in iDrive which may keep them open. You can set the exhaust to "sport" (or something...I forget offhand) in all drive modes. I think this keeps it open like in sport mode. I may make a video on this to find out for sure.

I didn't see a reference to ASD where I was referring. Here is a screenshot of what I'm talking about, under General settings. Do you think this is a fake/piped-in sound through the audio system!? If so I hate this! I'll definitely be looking into this further. I was going to do a muffler delete, but was pretty happy with the sound...unless it was fake.

AFAIK, this is an option only available on the M50i for MY20 and the 50i with the M-Package for MY19 (option code 1MA - M Sport Exhaust System).
I don't think that this system only generates a fake sound on the interior. Since the option is called an 'exhaust system', I'm pretty sure you can also hear the difference on the exterior. Last edited by 760Lifan; 11-26-2019 at 09:05 PM.. |
