Rear Differential Recall

All,

Just wondering, for anyone who was part of the rear differential recall, have you had it replaced by the dealer yet? If so, any issues? I just got a call saying the parts were in, and I am having it done on Monday. Surprised they are saying it is only like 1.5 hours of work.

Anything to worry about, or check when the work is completed?

Thanks

There is a multiple page thread on this already. There's also good information found here.

I got it replaced last month after driving the old one for 2,200 miles . My car stayed two days at the dealership. I have about 1,200 miles on the new rear differential and no problems so far. No IT IS NOT 1.5 hours. More like 1.5 days. If they are saying it will only take 1.5 hours, then this dealership has probably not done any of this recall.

How hard can it be? Step 1) remove differential. Step 2) Install new differential. Couple of bolts and you're done!

(this is sarcasm, it took me 40 hours to regrear my jeep).

I know right, give me the parts, I can get it done in 10 minutes!!

I should have been a little clear with what I was asking. When I called I asked for an appointment, I asked for a loner and they said I wouldn't need one since it will only take about an hour to do. It takes about an hour to just get the car up on a lift these days. I was wondering what others people's experiences were.
