For those who read this and decide to purchase the Mobius, be sure to get the wide-angle dashcam version. I have two hardwired "Lens C" Mobius which are wide angle and I consider them barely adequate in that respect for dashcam use. The newest Mobius version has the "Lens C2" which provides for improved optics and a slightly wider FOV.
I record every second that I am driving. In the "you never know" department one benefit of a dashcam that I've never heard talked about is what happened to me once during which the voice record function of the dashcam undoubtedly saved me from an arrest. Two cops, IMO not 99% but 100% in the wrong came up to the car but once they saw the Mobius and the red light winking they realized what precipitated this confrontation had been recorded and they started mumbling stuff like "watch your language" and walked away. |

I have the 350. I was told, or at least remember that i was, that the image quality was the same. I frustrated that i can barely read a license plate number of nearby cars. Do you find that with the 650?

I just ordered the BMW Advanced Car Eye. :http://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1136633
Looks like a great unit with built in voltage monitoring (like the power magic thing but it is included in the camera). Being OEM you know the quality is there too. ECS tuning has the kit for $329 shipped right now.

Blackvue 2 Channel
I am really enjoying the Blackvue DR650 2 Channel. I have it set up directly into the fuse panel with voltage monitor that will not allow the drop to go below 12.2v and set for 6 hours. So far no warnings of excessive drain on the battery and or declining functionality in the comfort access system. The iPad app is weird in that it does not always show the latest files and a low end lap top shows choppy video. Right now I will blame the systems being used and not the camera, because the files are smooth on the iPad and I can see the latest files on the computer. One day I will have the right system to work with the camera system.

I'm using Thinkware F750 dashcam with the hardwire kit. The camera software controls the voltage cutoff and timer. So far, haven't had any problems with the battery or comfort access. I've set it to cut off at 11.8V or 6 hours of record time in parking mode. I wired it to the same fuses that were mentioned above.
I've had the old Blackvue 2 channel setup, the DR550 in a previous car, and it was nice too and the form I'd say is probably better than the Thinkware. Function wise, the Thinkware is more sensitive to motion detection and bumps (which can be a good or bad thing). I also think the CPU in the Thinkware is better with the Ambarella A7 compared to my old Blackvue but it seems like the manufacturer isn't taking advantage of it and giving it a better bit rate, so that's a wash. The one thing I do miss from the Blackvue is the live recording and live view at the same time. The Thinkware stops recording when you want to see a live view on your phone. One other thing I had to do wash replace the Thinkware's double sided tape with 3M clear tape, the one they put on is just regular 3m gray tape and it's very obvious when mounted on the windshield. With the clear tape, it's not as obvious.

I've had one of these BlackVue's installed for 18 months. It's good.

I found Blackvue, but personally feel little pricy, ended up I got a DDPai mini, exactly same one as Blackvue, but just different brand, and way cheaper.

Yet again the owner of a brand new BMW finds a way to cheap out on something so simple.
