2015 M235i LEASE QUESTION
Hi guys.
I'm thinking of leasing the 2015 M235i next year in Feb or March. I have a couple quick questions. 1. If BMW's webpage shows leases for the M235i $4k down,10k miles yr, and payments $479, why are ppl paying more than that ???? are they getting more options ?? and what money factor and residual is that on BMW's site ? 2. I want to lease for 36-39 months, 2015 M235i. I don't need NAV, don't need too many of their packages etc just to drive up price averaging $48,000+ sale cost($50,000 MSRP). Can i order a car without soo many options keeping the cars cost lower ? is it possible to ORDER a car thats going to be leased ? or is it only available to order for financed cars ? 3. Regardless of everything, My budget is to spend no more than : 2015-2016 M235i $2000 down (maxx) $480-$490 month 36-39 months 12K miles per year(minimum) |

ok, i called the local dealer, and they state I can order a car if its going to be leased. I'm not even sure I would need to order a car if I'm not planning on leasing until Feb 2016. The dealers should hopefully have more cars on the lot by then , hopefully.

1. $4k capital reduction drives down the price of a car like this about $120 a month. Most people don't put money down on a lease.
2. You can order a car however you like within the options/packages list or lack thereof. 3. Monthly is based on a handful of factors, some which we really can't predict - you might order on a REALLY good month when residuals are super high, money factor is super low and BMW throws in an incentive for good measure. Or vice versa... Quote:

why are lease rates soo damn high ?
.0016 etc ??? 4%, that's ridiculous !!!!!!! are lease rates typically higher than financed rates. I'm thinking 2%, 1.5% is fair sheeeze. |

Keep in mind BMW's website does NOT take into account tax, title, or license (or local/state BS charges). On my 228xi, those fees alone came in around ~$1200 (if I remember correctly). That 4k you quoted would then be ~5200 up front. I personally paid about half that to drive home with the car.
My lease payment is 479 but that is for a 48k car I "got" for around 43k. My 228 has a good number of options so you could easily get a M235i with less options for my monthly payment. A general rule-of-thumb would be $1000 change in purchase price (at same residual value) affects the lease about $30/month. BMWFS has a base money factor of 0.00130 (~3.1%). Some dealers go higher (their profit) and others don't.

Does BMW require that I use their financial service, or can I shop around ?
Damn, why are 228i's soo damn expensive ? isnt it $35k or so, you have $10k in options ?!?!?!?!?!?! I previously leased an infiniti G37 for $347 month,15k miles year,$1500 down. I know its not exact same car as BMW, but can't beat rear wheel drive G37 for $347 month and 330 hp. Only reason I'm going BMW is for the turbo, and possibly piggyback hp to around 380 or so, and the M235i is pretty damn nice stying too |

Yes, I have many options. M-sport Line, Lighting, Premium, Cold Weather, Driver Assistance, HK Stereo. I basically DONT have the Driver Assistance Plus or the Track Package.
I personally wanted a daily driver with all the "cool" BMW tech features that I enjoy in my X5D (adaptive headlights, iDrive, Heated Seats & Steering wheel, rear view camera, etc). Additionally, I wanted to at least maintain what I had in outgoing GMC lease (heated seats, rearview camera). You can certainly get a M235 cheaper than my 228. However, it won't be optioned as well as my car, so it's totally dependent on what you're willing to pay for (engine or options or both.)

Dealerships buy the cars from BMW. They are independent up to a point, so they don't really care what you use to pay for the car. With leasing, generally your best bet is BMWFS because their rates are usually better. If doing a traditional finance, then you might often get a better deal elsewhere if your credit is good.

cool beans man....... I'm more of the power hungry guy. I like a the techy gadgets etc, but I live in Florida, and dont need cold weather package, dont use rear view camera much(have it on my Infiniti now), and not sure what other packages there are, but Im pretty cool with a M235i stripped down a bit vs the 228i. I'm surprised at the 228i, its a peppy lil som bissh anyway, pretty comparable to my Infiniti G, as far as speed / qwkness. |
