Matching yellow M performance brakes with...

Hi all

I have installed the yellow m performance brakes, and - for fun - I was looking to match another element - inside or outside - with the same Phoenix yellow color (too much time on my hands you think? )

Anyway i didn't find anything that would look good so i'm calling on this community for ideas

Interior is Black leather/dark grey ceiling/black & brushed aluminium trims.
Exterior is glacier silver / m sport

I thought about :
  • interior trims: painting the black line under the aluminium part in yellow... but no it wouldn't look good i think.
  • mirror covers: that would be too much i think

And that's all I could come up with. is this silly or do you have an idea that would look great?

How about the two support poles in front of the radiator, behind the kidney grilles?

I'm looking for a good deal on the M performance brakes, did you get them from the dealer? Let me know if there is a vender that sells it a bit cheaper!

Thanks for the ideas, I'll see what can be done.

For the two support poles in front of the radiator, does that require unmounting? I think I saw a car that had them painted red in this forum

Yes got them from BMW dealer, they offered a 10% discount on hardware, but still had to pay for fitment which is a 4.5h job, but for insurance etc i preferred to have an official BMW dealer install it rather than some less known shop, for warranty, recoding, and just in case of an accident make sure they would not object i was not using a reputable dealer.

All in all 3.2kEUR

It may be easier to take the grilles off, but it is a simple thing to do. I have seen a few that have used a vinyl wrap, not paint.

I think the thin line under the aluminum could be a nice accent actually.

I will give a go at photoshop before attempting something but it does sound like the best idea after all.

The other idea i had recently is not possible i think: change to yellow stitches on the black leather (they're black) - i have no earthly idea how i would do that, but that would be pretty unique

When I replaced the stock chrome kidneys with black, since they were out of the way, I painted my crossbars red (used red caliper paint). I've since had to touch the red up a bit and was able to (carefully) reach in thru the slats with a long paint brush and paint them. I wouldn't want to do the initial paint job like that because I know me and I know red paint would find its way onto my nice white bumper LOL. But for touching up it was fine.

It's a subtle thing - more noticeable when the light is just right. Here's mine:
