F32 boost leak

I just had a CTS Turbo Intercooler installed on my 2014 435i xDrive. After installing, my car is definitely leaking boost. It sounds like a supercharger whistle and has no acceleration after 3 RPM. The shop techs rechecked every hose connection and determined it's installed properly and fitted tight. What other things could have caused my boost leak?

So my charge pipe is also the CTS turbo charge pipe. It is two piece. I don't know if the techs rechecked that, I'm also hoping it's the charge pipe that just need retightening. What other than the charge pipe can cause the leak tho?

There's nothing to "tighten" on the charge pipe really. They might've installed a gasket backward OR pinched it in the install. OR... does the CTS pipe has a meth or accessories plug? Check it, might be loose.

Clamps can need to be tightened, I don't see why they needed to touch it though. May be the gasket in the chargepipe/ intercooler side.

the likeliest cause of your boost leak is the charge pipe o-rings oriented incorrectly(backwards) or it's flap seal distorted or torn. the OEM o-ring flap seal is a bit delicate. if reusing OEM they should've been thoroughly checked for wear and tear. instead of reusing old o-rings, most replace with new o-rings when installing their aftermarket chargepipe, unless you get FTP. they provide their own o-rings which are slightly more robust than OEM.

here is a FTP o-ring correctly oriented. the flap goes into the pipe.

Sounds good. I was thinking the same. I'm going back next week for them to take another look. Hopefully it's just a backward o ring

This guy was having similar issues. He changed his tic pipe as well. Apparently both connections to the intercooler were not seated properly although they sure it was when they installed it. That c-clip has to click and recess.

Recheck o-rings, throttle body and intercooler clips and connections.
