Decent review. Most British reviewers seem biased towards RR, given their status symbol connotations in the UK. This reviewer does acknowledge the RR prestige, but separates it from the other aspects. I'd have to agree with most of the observations and conclusions he comes to.
... it's an X7 for me! |

The RR have laughable tech, very sluggish, buggy and the gearshifter... time to move forward Tata.
The X7 came out much better than expected.

I have just bought a Range Rover sport HST after test driving the X7 50i
I was totally unimpressed by the x7 for the price. The interior in the Range Rover is better, it drives better, all around a much better experience. This is coming from someone who owns an M3,M4 and an X5. |

I’ve always been a fan of the range rovers but the lack of a true 3rd row combined with reliability issues (not sure how warranted that is) have always lead me away from them. I feel like the x7 is a nice “in-between” between a more cushy ride gls and a sportier rr.

We have a RRS very comfortable, tech is slow and sluggish, not sporty at all but again very comfortable

Might be weird to compare but other than a 3rd row seat o don't see it being in a different class |

coldsteelrain your Range Rover sport HST looks beautiful in red. I'm enjoying our X7 50i but to each his own. Congrats.

I had a '14 RRS for a short time. I liked it, but I loved the E70 X5 more, so I sold the Range and went back to an X5 (...and sold my '14 335i when my '15 YMB ///M4 arrived). I would take the Range Rover over the hideous looking X7 though.

I don't think there's any denying the X7 is objectively the "better" vehicle on paper. Whether it be tech, powertrain, acceleration, overall performance, build quality, etc.
With that being said, the RR will always have more sex appeal.

Friend recently bought a RR Sport SVR, it's been at the dealer for some sort of a repair at least a half a dozen times for a total of 2-3 months, nothing but complaints from him

Good so far. Haven't had it for long and it's my first Range Rover/Actually a nonBMW car in a long time. I have had BMW's for a while now (3 currently)and I can say that in my case every single one has had a fair share of reliability issues. Some more some less |

We had an 18 full-size RR supercharged. Much prefer the X7 but for the prestige factor, yes, the RR wins.
For tech / drive / ergonomics, the X7 by a huge margin, in my opinion. |
