This is a 350-400$ repair including paint and labor, not worth going to insurance, they will never agree to replace bumper.

While I agree that they will only repair it and not fix it. If the OP needs the clear bra put back on thats probably and additional 300 or so? So add that up and you are talking $650-$700+. Its a no fault scenario, id report it. The only reason i wouldn't is if i had a $500+ deductible, but I wouldn't see any reason why someone would carry such a high deductible on Comp. Most the people I asked around the office carry a $50-$150 Comp deductible which is a hell of a lot cheaper than the full cost.

I would be a bit pissed if this happened to me, it seems anything can be taken as a "joke" to others until they actually experience it themselves. The OP's photo looks more than just an average ding one would get from daily driving. I will admit that the getting a new bumper part was far fetched though.

of course I would be piss myself. But you learn to get over it after a while. I get all kind of rock chips. There is one on my passenger outside mirror that stands out as a sorethumb. But you get over it.

When you call insurance and the adjuster comes out and see it, I dotn think he will get you another bumper. It looks so small. I hit a bumper ont he freeway going 80. chipped up some of my paint but it isnt big enough to call my insurance.

Please think again and wait for more damages on your bumper.

I stopped by the bmw dealer and wanted to see how they would fix it, they said they don't have a body shop and tell me to go to collision center. I asked him if i would get a LOANER from BMW, they said NO. I called another dealer, it was the same answer. I meant WTH, when I paid $45k for BMW, they said I would have a loaner for services. But now I cant even drop my car in the dealer, get the BMW loaner and have them drive down the street to the body shop for me???? I will have to rent a loaner from collision center plus $500 detuctile. Can I do something with dealer so I could get the loaner? Call my CA or call BMW NA to complain?

Let me see if I have this right....Your BMW dealer does not have a body shop. They advised you to go to a body shop that is independent of the dealer. You are getting hot under the collar because BMW won't give you a loaner and drive you to the body shop.

If those are the facts, stop whining about making a complaint to BMW NA and bad mouthing your dealer. Grow up and take your tiny, little damaged bumper like a man. As other's have said, you're bound to get other nicks and dings over the life of your car. Are you planning to get every single one of them repaired when they occur?

If I don't have your BMW dealer story straight, then forget everything I've said.

Not hard to tell when someone is driving a car they can't afford.

You spent a lot of money on a car that is WORTH a lot of money. That doesn't entitle you to any kind of special treatment. You got your moneys worth; you didn't buy a country club membership. Take care of your car yourself.

The insurance will cover the clear bra too. They saw it today and no question asked.
