Yes you can complain about third row A/C; or you can also complain about your iPhone connection issues and CarPlay.

I got my software updated to the most recent version 3/2020.58. I also had a rearview camera recall that had to be addressed. But I was also told the entire front windshield had to be changed. My new windshield looks completely different with a new set of cameras installed on the windshield which was not previously there. My x7 is a 2019 model
What should I expect with this change ?

Well got my car back this morning, they were not able to upgrade it from 03/2020.35 to 03/2020.58. They said when they connected to their shop computers, it showed no update available.

Now that's a good one. I think they are now addressing the hardware compatibility. I don't know what change this software update would bring but it might be related to the cameras of your car.

I am also in TX and also have a 40i 2019 early model. Would you please tell me what camera issues were you having? Most likely they might consider my windshield replacement too?!! Thanks.

I spoke to BMW service and this is what he said-
The windshield had to be replaced as the wiring for the assisted driving camera which happens to be in the windshield was getting overheated and can lead to crack on the windshield
As a precaution they replaced my entire windshield with a new one. It just cosmetically looks a bit different than my previous windshield. That’s what made me believe there was a new camera but in fact it was just a new windshield

Recall was for my rear view camera software that I believe is fixed now
Wonder if anyone else has the same windshield issue with 2019 x40i model

I have a heated steering wheel. I did not have the policies or permissions in place to have it automatically heat up at a certain temperature.

The heated steering wheel rules were originally jacked up from the factory anyway - at least on my X7. I had the steering wheel heat stuff turned off, yet when I remote started my X7, when I came to my X7, the steering wheel heat had been turned on. And then when I did set it to turn on at/below a set outside temp, say 35 deg F, the heated wheel would still come on when above that set temp. One time it was over 60 deg F outside and the steering wheel heat came on .

I think the latest software update fixed that bug though...

So after I picked up my X7 today from the dealer, I had a nice chat with the shop foreman - really cool guy. Among the many BMW related things we discussed, he told me that BMW recently sent out a bulletin to the dealers regarding the 3rd row A/C issue. The gist is, if a customer complains about not having 3rd row A/C with the rear seats folded, the dealer is to update the software to get it functional. This means if OTA is not working for you, you will get 3/2020.58 from the dealer - which is current as of this post.

I had mine updated at the dealer on Tuesday. I got 3/2020.30. Also, my car now recognizes my iphone and will make calls, but I cannot hear the other party nor can he hear me. I have to transfer the call to my phone from the dash and then talk on the handset. I deleted the phone and then re-paired it. Still no joy. I fixed it by rebooting I Drive

It seems like there are different software versions for the same car. I wonder if different options means you get different versions of idrive.

You got 03/2020.30 from your dealer this week, Some others are reporting 03/2020.58. Mine came from factory with 03/2020.35. I tried to get my dealer to update it earlier this week but when they plugged it into their computer, it showed no new software availble.

So that's at least 3 different versions of 03/2020.xx so far.

The 3rd row AC works fine in my car with 03/2020.35 software.

This is really interesting
I was looking at something yesterday and remembered you when I was in apps and bmw assistant as it seems the polices are there and have to be enabled.

Reminds me of Dubai days, when this is a natural turned on feature almost 9 out of 12 months a year 🤣. It's the city's hot potato 🥔 syndrome
