You can try these new RFT tires from Michelin: https://www.michelinman.com/auto/tir...eSize=22#sizes

I am in the South in the U.S. The weather is mild here - we rarely see snow. We are just losing the rubber so fast in our city driving I can't keep up! $2700 for a set of 4 tires is pretty crazy. My wife really just drives the kids back and forth to school and soccer. She isn't a lead foot either.

Just looking for something less aggressive, safe, and something with longevity. We also have the 22" staggered tires.

We have a 2023 X7 w/ Conti's on 22's. Just hit 10K and have a decent amount of tread left. We do about a 50/50 Highway & Streets and live in the canyons. Something must be off with your alignment or something. Conti's are now discontinued so I will definitely get the new Michelin's next, Pirelli's are never as good as Michelin's !!

That looks like maybe 4/32" to 5/32" left. Which means if you got 10k on those tires, you'll likely get 12-15k total before you reach the 2/32" legal minimum.

About the same as what others are getting on the 22" summer tires.

Lots of twists and turns here. When we had service last July we had a 4 wheel alignment. The tires aren't really wearing unevenly. They're just worn down - badly.

Trying to find something less aggressive we can use that will work!

How is the speedo? Combine with bmws built in error margin it must be reading pretty high vs actual speed?
So if that size works, would these work on all 4 rims:

Has anyone considered/installed Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus?

They are made in 275/40/22 and 315/35/22 sizes. However, the front are 108W, while the rear is 111Y.

Do the speed ratings really matter if you are never going to maintain speeds over 180mph? I understand that there may be different compounds, but at least they meet/exceed load ratings.

Where are you seeing these available in factory sizes?

Edit: I see them here if you put in 315/35/22 manually: https://continentaltire.com/tires/ex...act-dws06-plus

I can't find them at any retailer or in general, so either they are brand new and not available yet, or it is a glitch. If they become available, there is zero reason not to go with them and they would immediately become my number 1 choice for tire.

I couldn't find the 315/35/22 size on Tire Rack or Discount Tire; however, they are found on SimpleTire. Make sure it's 111Y on the rear.

This should absolutely be your #1 choice if moving away from run-flats.

When my factory tires wear down, I will 100% get this set. Fronts at $315 and rears at $500 = $1630 for the set, and it should last a heck of a lot longer than the factory tires.

The 315/35zr22 size is brand spanking new. Great find.

Oooh, I had no idea that this is a new size! Lucky, that I just happened to stumble upon a set on eBay, and then dug a bit deeper regarding specs and where else I can buy them.

Should the different speed rating for front vs rear be of any concern? I wouldn't think so. Hopefully Discount Tire doesn't have issue either...I know they do about load index. True, I can get it installed elsewhere, but I'd rather deal with DT -- they only do tires (i.e. easy to get appointments), and I've been going there for years.

I reached out to Continental about the new tire, and they replied "The ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus, 315/32R22 111Y XL is currently available for special order through any US Continental Tire dealer under part# 15571580000". So you should be able to order it through Discount Tire. Make sure they match the $449.99 price that bestwheelsonline is selling it for.

they shouldnt, the top speed limiter is a max of 155mph, most X7s have a 130 limiter.

W is 168 mph
Y is 186

both exceed the top speed the vehicle is capable of.

What’s the advantage of these versus the squared 285/45/22’s?

Just more aggressive look?

Depending on the wheel and offset, I think the normal aggressiveness of staggered fitment gets lost on the X7. To me, it's not that noticeable. I think it's more important to keep with OE tire size in case there are any issues with X-drive. The last thing you'd want is for BMW to deny warranty coverage due to your tire size not matching what came from factory.

For reference, see attached PDF of prerequisite tire inspection for xdrive issue.
