Ha! That's not the gear's or car's fault, it's your fault for running the wrong tire. A 3500lb car should have no problem hooking 425wtq with the right tire (a drag radial if need be - the new Nittos are fine in the rain, run a snow tire if you have winters) (shoot, new 5.0 Stangs and SS Camaros make more torque, earlier, and are manageable with DRs). If you're on stock RFT's...well, a turbo upgrade is the least of your worries.

Don't you think the stock N55 exhaust manifold could be fitted with an adapter flange or cut it and weld on a flange to accept a gt40 or similar? That would still be a LOT cheaper and less tricky than fabbing an exhaust manifold from scratch.
Not likely. Possible? Sure, but getting the right cut so you have a straight section to be able to weld a flange onto, then finding the right rod to be able to weld a flange that's holding something as heavy as a turbo setup and being shaken to death all day would be challenging and unecessary, IMO. Worst case scenario, you make a cheap tubular log manfiold. Supras have used them upwards of 700whp.

Mr. Shiv!

I am looking to lease a car in the next 2 weeks. If I want mild improvements (50hp/50tq) do I need to get the 335is instead of the 335i?

I would prefer to keep it bone stuck with tune-only.

Thanks!

The other questios is if there will be a way around the cruise control stick interface...as I do not have one :/
+1 I'd like to know this as well Shiv (except for the cruise control part)

No problem getting those gains with just the Procede on the car. We did quite a bit better than that today on the dyno (especially in terms of torque... Ove 80lbft gains!) at 14psi peak. More results to follow soon...

How about for us old school 6 speed manual guys? Will the software be the same/similar vs. the DCT cars? Good to see some progress being made on the N55!

Cool.

I am running 19s with Falkan452s on the street and traction is a problem.

i've been waiting to hear about this!!! so a tune only n55 may be able to keep up with a bolted n54...this sounds like fun! and porting your meth kit to the n55? i still have it sitting in my room...i assume just a different elbow?

i can't wait!!! im waiting on more info from you(dyno, 1/4time, comparison runs) before i decide to jump ship...i can see a turbo upgrade coming alot sooner for the n55.
