2023 BMW XM Review // The Most Overpriced Car Of The Decade
Not a flattering review of the XM from Throttle House, but I can't find fault in what they're saying.

I'm actually warming up to the design. It's not beautiful but I don't hate it like the iX. It just doesn't look $160k+ expensive in the way a G wagon or Range Rover do.
They're spot on that the interior is very plain. Too similar to an X5 which is under half the price.

I enjoy the overall design, but the fact they are coming out with Label Red and this one really does not fit anywhere in the line up it's a big pass.

They actually didn't hate on the exterior styling, but they did hate on just about every other aspect of the XM.
TH is on their way to BMW's blacklist. |

As an XM owner I can reflect on my initial impressions which were similar to many hating on the XM. As my daily I can say I really enjoy everything about the XM and am still in disbelief on how nimble and quick it is considering the size and weight.
I’m excited to see what the red label introduces to top am already over the top vehicle. I do agree in that the exterior design does look less attractive in some colors whereas in black it looks totally different as some of the design language hides and what you see is a much more simplified shape. It’s ahead of it’s time in my opinion and looking different on the road is a welcomed change when most others SUV’s look so similar. Just my 2¢ |

I honestly think it’s a totally unique vehicle that drives and looks very different from anything in the lineup. Is it worth 200k? Probably not but it feels like a high end Range Rover / Gwagon comparable - so in my mind it’s BMWs’ Range Rover on steroids. For a family of 4 it’s the epic. I prefer an m6 for me when I not people hauling lol. But for an SUV I’ll take this over anything else out there. |

They kinda liked the styling but were confused at its positioning since it is slower than X5MC and less luxurious than an iX or X7 (save for the very roomy back). Not bad per se but “not the ultimate X nor the ultimate M” and yet costs more than both. |
