IND | G09 XM Painted Front & Rear Reflector Sets Install Guide

Thankfully the G09 XM includes some of the easiest front and reflectors to replace as they don't require any disassembly to swap out so we put together a quick Installation Guide for our reflector deletes. The guide for the rear reflector install is in the next post. Instead of body colored, we decided to try a different look there and went with a black set.

FRONT

REQUIRED TOOLS:
  • None - Heat Gun / Hair Dryer Optional

STEP 1:
Starting at the top, use your thumbs to press in the reflector until it separates from the bumper cover. The adhesive on new cars is usually still soft and easy to remove; we did not need one, but if you have difficulty, use a heat gun to soften the adhesive on the OE reflector, be sure to keep it moving to avoid burning the paint.

STEP 2:
Pull the reflector out from the bottom; once removed, note if any adhesive didn't come off with the reflector and remove it from the inside edges of the reflector cutout.

STEP 3:
Peel the tape to expose the adhesive on the painted reflector and reinstall. Be sure to press the bumper cover to close any gaps around the reflector before firmly pressing all around to complete the install.

REAR

REQUIRED TOOLS:
  • Painters Tape
  • Pry Tool

STEP 1:
Apply a layer or 2 of painters tape on the bumper at the outside edge of the rear reflector.

STEP 2:
Starting at the bottom edge, insert a pry tool to release the bottom reflector clip. Once loose, work your way up to completely release the reflector.

STEP 3:
Line up the painted rear insert and insert evenly into the reflector cavity. Press with uniform pressure until painted reflector is fully seated.

STEP 4:
Remove the painters tape.

Are you guys working on some spacers? I’ve ordered from two sites and although they say that they are a fit, they do not line up appropriately.

Did you order 5 x 120 or 5 x 112 spacers. What bore size?
