It looks bad in that red, the black fender flares make it look high up

Dark colors look best on these odd looking front ends & bizarre rims.
Likely bmw tones these down in the refresh -so many good things on these new models
Obscured by the too much too quick styling

"luxury"?

For me luxury means everything including design.
This is WAY far from luxury. I mean, this design is what a non-budget company will come up with.

Hideous!

I would get this car in white, and just go full budget overland it. Lift it, big fat meaty tyres, make it into some kind of Dakar warrior. Blank out the most rear window, etc. I think that would make it kinda nuts and interesting.

But this car spent off road 1 minute of the video, and went to drive on a straight road after. Nuff said.

And hey if dealer markups hasn't been hurting you enough already, you can take solace in knowing that buying everysingle option in XM is more EXPENSIVE than buying literally everysingle BMW M car ever made.
(even factoring in non-M models like the X3 M40i, they're cheaper lol)
Why are there so many options? And why do they cost on average 10 to 20 each?

I completely agree! These should all be shipped directly to China, wondering how their copycat version will still manage to be less hideous, imagine that.

BMW of delray are the kings of markup. Anything with an M badge gets marked up, even M performance cars.

I got to see one in person at my dealer this week. It was in Marina Bay Blue with black trim.

To me the design represents a trend seen recently in being ostentatiously ugly. Think of the latest iPhone, some Richard Mille watches, or the Rolls Royce Cullinan. It’s for people that really want to stand out.

For me the Bentayga was the pioneer of that trend in the automotive world, but they were left behind and that car looks actually rather elegant these days.

The person that will choose this over an Alpina B7 is the person that will drive it while it’s unique then swap for the next new thing that nobody has yet. They are also certainly in a different tax bracket to mine. It’s all about vulgar displays of wealth.

I don’t like the XM for what it is and don’t like it being an M halo car.

It’s literally that. Big show of who’s financial pecker is bigger. It’s also a bargain at the same time given the class it’s trying to punch in. BMW knew exactly what they were doing. They know they won’t be selling a ton of these but enough will be sold to make it profitable. This thing reminds me of the GTS all hype until the reviews came out. Then we had to discount the car $40k new to sell it.

I never seen that reddish brown with white seats. It looks terrible!
Reddish suede that DOES NOT really match the door trim (luxury much?), violet lighting and gold lines on exterior. Ugh...!
Man, this company is running from worse to worse...

The wheels are plain ugly and that wheel cap that used to have a BMW emblem now has a toilet pipe cap... Literally.

What happened to that special team that was in charge with color matching interior and good taste?

I saw it in person just like the new 760. And the same thing happened, I had to rush to the restroom to avoid throwing up in the parking lot.

Someone that wants to make a statement needs to get the Ferrari Purosangue, not this thing. The only thing this vehicle will do is make you look like the dumbest person at the country club.

I like that there is no "hood cut line " in the design. I long for BMW to return to the no hood cut look for remaining sedans and coupes. I wonder why manufacturing this they can omit... ride height for pedestrian impact?

That’s how I feel about the iX when I see it on the road.

Much rather choose a Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo for the same money as this horrendous lard.
