It’s supposed to protect the car paint from the elements and make it easier to clean and keep clean. Honestly my biggest reason for doing it was to hopefully make keeping the cerium grey trim pieces looking clean and making the car stay cleaner looking between washes. Here are a couple more pics today I took as I was leaving my office and the sun was setting.

I used GYEON Q2 Syncro. Cost about $200 in product and about and takes about a day to prep and complete. It's still as good as the day I applied it. Water, sheets off amazingly, and I usually either just rinse with pressure washer to clean, or use foam cannon attached to the pressure washer after 1st rinse, than rinse again without wiping or touching the paint. Than I just dry it with my rechargeable leaf blower which quickly and easily blows every bead of water away. My car never gets super dirty though. |

Snow foaming the car is very soothing. Once rinsed, I use hot air blower to dry the vehicle. Filtered hot air blowers are expensive if they are marketed specifically for cars. Cheaper alternative that does exactly the same thing is to buy pet hair dryers, these also blow hot filtered air.

I would think it would be more likely to cause the water droplets on the surface to evaporate (leaving behind minerals etc. and water spots). Using cool air is more likely to blow the water droplets off the paint with much less evaporation occurring. This is the same reason that it is not advised to wash your car in the sun or when paint is hot. |

So with the foam, are simply spraying it on and rinsing it off? No sponge or rag? Does it work well? What about the wheels?

Rinse Foam Rinse The foam supposedly helps lift the dirt and holds onto it so it can be blasted off the surface. My Rims are ceramic coated as well but you have to get the pressure washer nice and close and you can get most, almost all of the brake dust etc off without using a brush etc. This is my experience anyways. |

Also, your water may have less minerals in it. The water from the town I live has fairly high mineral content.... so it can be a little annoying |

Mine is actually an older model, not quite as powerful but still works great.... can be had now for cheaper. No cords, and plenty of blowing power, for roughly the same price as the blower that you mentioned. I actually removed the long black pipe (twist unlock) to make it even easier to handle when drying the car. Also, it's super handy as a leaf blower. I've had it for about 5 or 6 years. 580 cfm, 168 mph velocity. |

Martin Water Conditioning (Reading/Lancaster, PA) sells Kinetico water softeners for homes and businesses but they also offer a car rinse system that uses a RO membrane to filter your water (removes all minerals and dissolved solids) for your final rinse. Take a look:

Seems like there is a bunch of these sort of systems in the market. My wife already calls me psychotic when she notices that I have escaped outside again to wash the X7. I wonder what she would say if she saw this delivery arrive at the front door 😝? I really do believe that washing your own car is one of the finest sources of therapy though. |
