Another XM Label Competitor

Looks as though the XM Label will have another high power PHEV to compete with (basically a port over of the Porsche Turbo E Hybrid to Lambroghini). Cost is not quite double. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a6...lug-in-hybrid/

If it’s double the cost then it really isn’t a competitor, is it?

I promise you nobody is cross-shopping an XM and a Urus.

It's hard to say another competitor... Since the Audi, Porsche, VW, and Lambo all share the exact same chassis with new skin is it really another competition? lol I'm waiting to see what Merc might end up doing after seeing the huge success of the BMW SAV line up in general. Well here in the states anyway.

Performance Competition and Price/Shopping Competition aren't always the same thing...but I can see these models being cross shopped for the simple reason that the XM (Label or Base) is just as much of a rare and distinctive model as compared to the Cayenne Turbo/GT and Urus models.

There are Lambo guys, Porsche Guys, etc that just want their brand to sit at the top and aren't going to get anything else anyway. Then there are those that want the distinction of what they own/drive to be rare. And TBH, a Cayenne Turbo GT doesn't look much different that any other Cayenne that you see all day every day. And at least around Dallas it's not that rare to see a Urus either. I've had my XM for 2 months and only had 3 sightings in that time yet I see those other ones a LOT. And if you add the SQ8/RSQ8, Bentayga and even G63 to the equation the quickly becomes more unique of a vehicle.

So I'd call them competitors as in many ways they have the same set of potential buyers...and in many ways they don't.

Lots of people going back and forth on Rennlist between a Cayenne Turbo GT and Lambroghini Urus Performante. Larger price delta between those two than the XM Label and Urus PHEV, surpised at the negative comments on here.

8 months in and I’ve still never seen another XM out in the wild in Seattle. Cayennes everywhere and I see a Urus at least every other month. There are even more Uruses (used) sitting on lots locally than XMs.

Dealers around me have some sitting on lots for about 5 months now and still more come in but not many going out. Wonder how impactful the stop sale was it turned me away when I was hunting for one.... I've yet to see one on the road.
