Yep the pad should have this phone icon - if it does you’re good.
Yup. Got that. Ok. Not a total loss.

You may be right, so many variables at play:

Phone
OS
OS version
Battery health
Apps installed
App usage
Background services
Case
Case thickness
Car interior temperature
Compartment door position

So I've got a brand new iPhone with a brand new healthy battery running the latest iOS with just a few apps in use and all background data services turned off in a very thin case with AC on 68 degrees and the compartment door open. And, for me, the wireless charger is working very well. Whatever battery percentage I start my trip with I wind up with at the end and that's while streaming music and using GPS the whole way.

Someone with a different phone and different apps who leaves background app refresh enabled with an unhealthy battery and a warmer climate control temperature with the compartment door closed may have a different experience.
I'm my current family vacation trip, i drove for more than 3hrs with my mobile in wireless charging. The phone because warm but not hot to the point it shuts down. I was running Waze the entire time. The one major difference this time was I activated hotspot on my car and the mobile was running in WiFi. It looks like the amount of cellular data the phone uses and the coverage being a major culprit to this issue

Does anyone know if it’s possible to retrofit wireless charging unit P/N 84-10-5-A1D-B18 in a 2022 X7 M50i? Is the wire harness connected to the existing NFC tray able of power the wireless charging unit? Will this require FDL coding?

Hi Guys, I would rise the same question. I plan to retrofit the wireless charger for my X7. I have already bought an OEM wireless charge station for X7. Yet I need to finish my research before I can try to install it.

Unfortunately, so far I was not able to find any info about someone's experience in such kind of retrofit for the latest X5/X7 models.
