I'll get the headlights checked to see if the dealer can adjust/lower the angle of the beam or if there's any misalignment.
Is there an issue with lights setup? I have my X7 for more than a year and have not had flash as I can recall so why is that soMe users complain a lot and some get nothing, the only way I can see that the leveling must be off on some cars?

Could be! It wasn't this obvious earlier. Few oncoming flashes in local roads and I was alright with it. But now it's bothering me a lot on freeways as almost everyone is high beaming me as I pass them.

So I took the X7 to the dealer and everything looks normal as per SA. They had it checked with another similar X7, alignment seems fine as per the factory standards. But the problem is not resolved. Every single vehicle including 18 wheelers are annoyed and revenge follows. Some flash but most of them keep their high beams on till I'm out of their sight! That shows how irritated other drivers are! I've laser headlights option if that makes any difference but it should not on low beam setup.
Not sure what am I suppose to do next! Have a technician drive my car in the night or do a detailed video and send it to BMW? Please suggest!

high beam blues

we have logged 2.5K miles since taking delivery of our m50i 2021 x7 -

many highway and urban miles in the Commonwealth of MA - the land of "massholes" behind the wheels of their Subarus, white Audi SUVs and Teslas...

we have not had anyone flash us back...so i am uncertain there is a problem with all X7s and their quad low beam eyes?

Adjusting your headlights

I had the same problem with people flashing me all the time. Turns out the headlights were just aimed too high from the factory. I had the dealer adjust them and the dealer adjusted them way too low. That's when I took matters into my own hands. It turns out it is very easy to adjust the headlights. Use an Allen Wrench (or possibly a phillips head screwdriver?)... clockwise lowers, counter-clockwise raises. Start with a 1/2 ~ 1/4 turn and see if that makes a difference.

Thank you for this. This was extremely helpful. The dial to lower/raise headlights is usually more exposed than they are on our X7s.

LED headlights dont have as good of beam control as the HID headlights of the past. lots of light gets through above the cutoff and blinds other drivers. there isnt really anything you can do except aim your headlights lower than where they are supposed to be.

I have been getting flashed ever since owning vehicles with xenons or LED headlamps. If you think the x7 is bad, try driving an Acura MDX. Let them flash...sadly some states are now calling the act of flashing back an example of road rage. In fact, flashing back not only doesn't solve the issue but increases the risk of the other driver's vision being further impeded and putting you and passengers at further risk. All that said...I was guilty of flashing back on occasion too. Let them flash and carry on driving your vehicle with excellent nighttime visibility!

I've been driving my 2020 X7 for 15 months with 22K miles on the odometer and I have not been flashed one time. Maybe this is related to demographics based on where people live.

Yeah, I think that has a lot to do with it, driving around in a town where everyone still has incandescent bulbs make us look like some futuristic a-holes.

The topography and how dirty my car is also plays a role. I live in a fairly narrow valley, so a lot of abrupt elevation changes on many roads, and you might hit someone at the right angle for 50 feet or so where they'd swear you're piercing their soul. Luckily, I have a nice layer of salt coating my car right now, so it also occurs less often.

i imported my X7 to Israel from the usa, we pay additional 130% tax on the car meaning this car cost here about 225000$.
since i got the car people flashed at me every evening, making the ride impossible.
thanks to your advise i just adjusted the lights, most appreciated.
