Anyone encountering rattles in the cabin?

As for me, faint sounds for what seems to be coming from the front dome light assembly when hitting bumps or uneven roads. Not sure but I can somehow simulate it when pressing lightly on the light assembly.

Anyone know any fixes for any rattles present on a X7?

Take it to your dealer and have them take a look.

Mine is quiet at a coffin. The only potential noise comes from the parcel shelf which I always remove.

Parcel shelf? Center console glove?

I'm sure that the will say that they could not replicate, or normal "feature".

Rear flip shelf that hides packages in the trunk when looking in (has “X7” on it). I also remove the sunshade.

Show them what you can simulate. That seems to be a problem. Mine doesn't do that.

It more of a creak, not rattle. Mind poking around the vanity/dome light assembly to see if it is creaking anywhere?

I have small creaks/pops but I don't think it's from that area, sounds more from the air vents. Also when the aluminum looking trim is pushed in certain areas it sometime makes a creaking sound. Usually it will go away after 10-15 min of driving or going over a few good bumps. I've had similar things in other (premium) cars like one of my Audi's was especially bad even though another one of same gen was whisper quiet. I learned to live with little things like that and not beat myself up over it, although it still can annoy me paying 100k+ on a vehicle and still having to deal with "plasticky" noises like the occasional pop, creak or crackle.

And yeah, unless you have a sound that's very consistent and easy to replicate, your dealer will usually tell you to pound sand. And even if they don't, do you really want them to take apart half your dash and likely introduce more annoyances down the road?

Good points. I totally agree that one should not lose sleep over it. This is something we won't keep forever, and eventually sell or trade it in anyways.

True that. Don't want to go that route.

This is exactly what I'm experiencing, not sure if the outside temperature makes a difference. Yes, it eventually goes away.

I will check. If the dome light seems lose that is an easy fix for the dealership. You're not looking at major surgery.

I do agree that minor creeks can be annoying and are not worth the aggravation that might come by having the stealership take things apart.

I had a Mercedes GLS and it had creeks and even a pretty loud knock that would occur occasionally when going over bumps in the road. It drove me nuts, and passengers would notice it too. I left it because I knew I was switching up to something else, and to avoid further complications and multiple visits to the stealership because they could not find the problem or created another.

Anyone else encountering the same squeaks as me? Annoying sound still there for me.

Per my work order, they replaced this part but with no luck:

Headliner console retails at $931.. yikes.

For example, in my car there was noise from the plastic ends of the 2nd row bench rails. I put ("stuffed") a little soft black material under them and ... silence ... So the noise in the car for over 100k $ can be repaired with pieces of a black sock ...)))

The X7 has been rattle free, but I did have a rattle (sort of a high pitched buzz or creak over uneven surfaces) in my M8 where the surround at the base of the rear view mirror (plastic piece that covers the back of the rain sensor and such) had a broken clip. This allowed some extra downward pressure causing the rattle where it meets the headliner. Putting some pressure anywhere near the headliner, dome light, or that surround made it go away so I couldn't really pinpoint it myself, but they removed the surround, noted a broken clip, and it was immediately resolved by leaving it off. It took a couple weeks for a new one to come in, but that piece missing is hardly noticeable, so even that wasn't so bad.

no rattles or squeaks. I am very impressed with my x7.

My wife's 2020 330i has rattles from the area of that SOS button all the time and it really annoys me.

No rattles but annoying creaking noise from both driver side doors when going over rough roads, or any kind of surface that would cause body flex.
Had similar experience with a previous 5 series as well. Wife's X3 doesn't have this issue.

I tried to use gummy pflange on the door seals, that reduced it a bit but didn't eliminate it, then applied some wax to the paint around the door frame. That seems to have quieted it down, but it only lasted 3 or 4 days before it started to creak again. Dealer techs all seem to be deaf, can't hear the noise.

Would love a long term solution.

I get a soft creaking in the seat when I rock from side to side. If you hit the kind of rough road that rocks your body from side to side, and/or going around corners, I get it. Have brought it up to the dealer twice now. Getting my car back from them tomorrow, will see if it's fixed this time.

I get a light rattle coming from the sunroof, above the second row seats on the rear edge when going over bumps. They added insulation and tightened some stuff about a month ago, but its since come back.

Otherwise no noises.

Dealer has now adjusted the driver's seat on two service visits, but it's creaking again. Just a bit. Small thing, sure it'll get corrected eventually.
