I've had a metallic rattle coming from the 2nd row captain's chair area on mine. It seems to be speed and road condition dependant. Since I never ride back there,I've never bean able to locate it more precisely, and I suspect I'd have a hard time replicating for the dealer. Around town I can live with it, but on our 3K+ road trips, it does start to bug me.

This shows the handle and attachment anchor - looks like 2 separate parts. With the one connected to the body (#10/11) maybe being your problem? |

I noticed the rattling and creaking sounds from the 2nd row passenger door and it started after the dealer had someone fixed my third row arm rest leather which is cracking. The rattling sound is more noticeable after the car parked under the sun for a few hours, not sure the hot body caused the frame bending or structural loosen. Please try to test after your car parked under the sunlight, it will be worse.

Sometimes the seatbelts get all twisted in the rear and they bump against the door after my kids exit. Theres usually a hair brush, hydro flask, or any number of other objects that move around and make noises. As far as I know, nothing rattles that shouldnt.

I use gummy pflange on the rubber seals, and use wax on the painted surface around the doors where the rubber seals make contact. This will silent the creaks for a few months until the next application is needed. Have seen this on some other BMW vehicles but not all(2004 E60 5 series was really bad, 1996 E36, 1999 E46, 2016 F25 do not have this issue.) |

As well, I have what sounds like a thin piece of aluminum panel behind the passenger side front vent. When the fan is on (even slightly), the panel will vibrate back and forth for about 5 seconds. Then it will stop for a minute or two, then start again at some point. I suspect there is just a missing screw or bolt that is causing it to be not secured properly, but it's not an area that is easy to track down the issue without taking the car apart (which ironically can often lead to more creaks and rattles). |

What part is creaking? For me it's the connection area between the upper adjustable backrest and the lower backrest.

I have a very minor creak in my driver's door currently. Seems to be between the piece above the armrest and the one above that by the window. Likely a broken clip in one of those, I'll just have them address it at the first service.

Wife's F25 X3 has black rubber trim (base model) and does not have any creaking around the doors (although the center arm rest creaks a lot). My E36 had black shadowline trim, and my E46 had chrome trim and neither had any creaking even after 8 years and 175k miles on the E46 So not sure it's related to window trim. |

It has varied by model when they come up, and the SIBs BMW has released just said to lube and maybe add some teflon tape. I haven't heard of anything for the X7 or had the issue myself with 2 different cards and 45,000 miles now, but maybe others with chrome trim might be able to point to something more systemic.

20K miles on my wife's 2021. Not a peep and absolutely bullet proof.
Wish I could say that about my M5 with 10K miles. It is always the fing sunroof.

Head always says to get carbon but the heart decides on the sunroof. I use it quite a bit.

I am beginning to hear creaks and squeaks from the Driver side front and rear doors. very annoying especially on slightly uneven roads. My dealer states its the insulation and that I should leave the car to have it re-done. Anyone else hear that from your dealer. I will be taking mine in next week to see if they can fix it. Just 4100 miles.

I personally came to a conclusion that insulation quality and the mateiral have changed and there is no way around it. After test driving multiple 2022 X7 on the dealers lot, he convinced me that our 2022 is just as good as other other post-covid builds or 2022s. With 2019 in the garage, I know we got a lesser vehicle as I can compare them within just a few min before my ears re-set to a different baseline. We just felt bad that we wanted to let it go finally. Vehicle is sold finally for a very good price and it’s all behind us. Reason for taking long to sell is that we thoughts we could fix these issues, and then after we gave up, we were asking too much to let it go. In an effort to keep us as clients, dealer offered us good value for our 22’ (I never ever played the lemon card despite how many days it spent in the shop which the dealer appreciated). |

I had high hopes that I would be a repeat BMW customer. However, with all these issues with option deletes, quality control issues, downgrades in materials, etc. I think I will be looking else where. What really disturbs me is the removal of all the hard buttons. I don't care what anyone else says. Touch screens are dangerous and forces the driver to take their eyes off the road for simple tasks and takes at least twice as long to perform the same function that a hard button or knob does. It's a documented fact. The other thing that I hate is the fact that BMW is forcing us to accept EV and Hybrid vehicles. I have absolutely NO interest in ever having to plug my car in to charge it like a cell phone before I can drive it. I don't want anything to do with the mild hybrid engine either but we have no choice for any new purchases moving forward. Looks like I might be stuck buying and driving lower end vehicles that still have hard buttons and knobs in the future. At least until the rest of the industry makes the mistake of moving away from buttons and knobs. |

To be fair, pretty much every manufacturer has been doing this recently.

That may be true but when you're paying double the price or more for a luxury vehicle you expect to get quality parts and materials. Instead, we're getting sub par parts and materials compared to the previous generation vehicles but are paying the same price or even more for those parts and materials.
