Wanted to bump this thread. I just tried this for first time and got same error message. "Remote engine start not available. The conditions required for operation have not been met"
I have allowed it in the climatize option and I see it in connected drive as an option. It wasn't there before I checked it in the I drive menu. Anything else I need to do?

My works fine, however I. Prices that app sometimes goes crazy and does not provide updated status, then days later I look in and looks like it is still starting the car while the car was already started stopped and days passed by...

Finally fixed. Got my serviced this week. This was the description. Also got the software update for android auto while in service

This feature is so inconsistent it's not even funny. Just like every other BMW software, it's buggy as heck. One day it'll allow me to do it remotely from the Connected App and another it doesn't show the option.

It always works from the remote, but the app is 50/50. Although I find if I give it enough time, it usually kicks in maybe 95% of the time.

Oh in the app if it gives me the option to do so, it works every time. It's that it randomly shows up in the app itself!

I use the app to start the car all the time works perfectly. It does take a little longer than you would expect. As long as you wait until you see it say success you’re good. Could take 30 seconds to a minute at times.

Hi all

Have had a nightmare trying to get the UK to issue OTAs and the dealer said that my Extended Warranty would be void if they upgraded the software manually rather than OTA for customer request and it blew the headunit

So they finally managed to force the VIN into the OTA system and lo and behold my 7.2020 became 11/2023.42, it should have been doing this normally for the last three years but tehre are issues in the UK especially with BMW not wanting to issue the OTAs here

Last night I tried something after trying to find remote engine start, the ventilation option in the app HEATS the car if it is cold ! Not seen this before and am sure it is new but am over the moon as it is exactly what I was looking for and doesn't start the engine
