Thinking about doing this by Line-x. They are known for applying the rubber coating for bed liners on trucks. The road salt from winter destroyed the undercarriage of my previous car.

I believe BMW, alone with most German manufacturers, offer 10 years rust free warranty, so I assume they have pre applied some kind of coating.

I just checked and my X7 has 12 years and unlimited mileage of rust perforation warranty

Its not a Dodge which practically come rusty from the factory. I have never heard of undercoating a BMW. My 2008 M5 which is driven heavily in winters has zero problems with rust or corrosion.

It would actually be a very bad idea as it would probably clog all the crazy drainage tunnels built into BMWs and cause a problem when there is none with it as is.

I do know every BMW I've purchased, after a couple hundred miles when I put it up on the lift to change the oil and do an early inspection, I notice some sort of undercoating goop dripping off the undercarriage.
