Just received license plates. But I have no ideal how to install this license plate. I don't want to drill holes. But how? In CA, I think it's required to install front license plate, am I right?

Thanks

You're lucky the dealers PDI people didn't automatically attach the bracket to the front fascia. When I was shopping last year, a dealer whom I have purchased two new cars from in the past said they now have to install the front bracket.

So they lost a sale.

You're a good man. I would have done the same.

Double sided 3M tape. I've seen it on Teslas and it does great. Also it can be removed later if laws change.

Do not drill. The silver screws are self tapping. The plate holder is also self aligning. Place the holder on the bumper and its lower rear tabs will center the plate. Then just push and turn each screw into the plate/bumper.
Its stupid easy to do. You will see once you complete it.

That might only be for Non M Sport models (without the hex/honeycomb grill).

For M Sport - https://www.slybrackets.com/store/BO...-etc-p80520617

There was a post on bimmerpost where someone suggested $3 butterfly (?) brackets to essentially do the same thing for those with honeycomb grilles. No idea how well it works, but considering it myself. Hopefully someone can chime in.

I’ve had my car for 3 mos now and still waiting for plates. Oregon has all sorts of temporary rules that you can’t be cited for certain things due to pandemic and DMV backlog. I’m gonna try and ride that wave and not put the front plate on as long as I can…..my temporary has expired and they give a 6 mos reprieve.
