Hi guys, getting 4.5% off MSRP nearly fully loaded 22 X7M50. Is that a good price? Should I wait for facelift.

Finance 80k, trade in 28k, 1.9%, 1400/month 60 mo

Same trade in, 12k miles/yr, 865/mo, residual $58341.

Would you suggest finance or lease. Anyone who is good at numbers, will appreciate input.

Take the $28k as cash and go invest it. Never a good idea to do a down payment on a lease even if it is equity from a trade

Also, what is the MF they are using? Is it the base .00093 or did they add points?

Thanks so much

No I don't know what MF were they using. Or if they added any points.

I'll ask them tomorrow morning.

And yes, I'll try to do 0 down and see where no stand.

I def wouldn't use your 28k trade on a lease. That's throwing money away. I would sell the trade to Carmax, Carvana, or Vroom, and keep the cash, and just lease the X7.

If you have never leased before and dont ask, they can add up to 40 points to the MF which is free money for the dealer.

If you dont know what to do with $28k, you can always apply it to 7 MSDs and that will lower your payment by $25 per month and you get it back at the end of the lease

Dealership was matching carvana trade in and I don't think they would have problems paying me the check for trade in.

I was planning to finance but asked lease numbers just in case.

I still think finance may be better choice. I have never leased before.

I never understood the point of putting MSD’s down on a lease. To me for such a small change in payment I would rather have that money and use it for something else if it is only saving me $25 a month. What’s the reason so many suggest this?

If you were just going to hold that money in a savings account making next to nothing for interest, the $900 you saved over 36 months isnt a bad ROI

But it’s literally $25 a month on a payment well over $1,000. It’s immaterial IMO when you are leasing a car at this price.

+1 on this. God forbid something happens your down payment is gone. As little down as possible on leases.

Thank you. What you think about financing. Is that a reasonable discount in current times?

See the sticky thread on numbers for the latest deals. For speed, I look delivery Saturday on a 2022 G07. Was about 8.8% (MSRP of $79,500, negotiated price $72,450) post incentives, and they overpaid on my trade by about 17% (given the used car prices are through the roof, you should be able to get the same).

I traded in a 2015 loaded X5 35i for 26,500 with 57k miles.

Definitely you got a great deal. It seems that people are getting 4-6% on 50i model.

Is it worth waiting for LCI? I have seen rendering. I have mixed feelings about that. Do we expect any power train changes except PHEV version.

Looks like the 40i will get more HP on the LCI.

However if used car prices stay as crazy high as they have been (which Toyota cutting global production by 40% seems to indicate), then it may not be that much of a hit to trade in for the LCI later if you wanted to upgrade.

It's really your preference on the split headlights. The engine power upgrade is likely going to be throttled by the powertrain but it will be available to you in sport modes.

M2COMP, your comment is interesting. We got an allocation and have ordered a loaded M50i that's about to enter production this week. We couldn't get our dealer to budge more than about 1.5% when we ordered at the end of the July. Do you know if the 4-6% on an M50i includes custom-ordered units or just a slow moving build (does that even exist in 2021?!)? Ours will be a heavily spec'd DHP model ($117k MSRP), so I'm wondering how much money I'm leaving on the table.

Anything you can add will be appreciated. Thanks!
