Was disappointed to learn that no X5's have acoustic (laminated) glass. Not even an option (USA).

What about X7?

Do you know if the third row ones and rear window are acoustic as well? Or even the moonroof? I was truly impressed how quiet the ‘24 530 service loaner drove and how it handled potholes here in nyc. I think it’s better than my x7 in those aspects. It didn’t have acoustic glasses on any windows.

according to the parts catalog, the third row glass is acoustic. the rear windscreen is not.
i dont believe the roof is acoustic

Lots of upgrades over the X5. More acoustic insulation for one through the entire vehicle. Does the X5 have soft close doors again or are they still missing from Covid?? I don’t think the X5 even has manual reclining rear seats do they? They were a fixed seat on the 2019 G05 X5.

I know the X7 is a bigger car than the X5 but when I asked my SA which one I should order he didn’t blink and said X7. There are many small things that makes the X7 a nicer car than the X5.

Of course a SA is going to try to sell you the more expensive vehicle lol. But he's right. If you spend some time with a X5 and X7... there are a lot of differences that aren't listed on the spec sheets. The major systems and tech are largely identical between the two vehicles, but the X7 is much higher quality overall.

Actually the rear seats don't recline at all. We were looking at downsizing to an X5 but pretty much decided NO for that reason alone. The rear seats can't recline because they are physically limited and are against the rear side walls.

I knew the X5 would be missing several things like massage seats, electric rear shades, etc, but it was really the 2nd row that influenced us the most.

before they killed the option, the x5 with 3rd row had basically the same second row bench as the X7, reclining and i believe could move back a few inches. point is moot though as that option at least for the US market is dead and gone.
