E90 with Non-Runflats

I noticed that some forum members here had switched out their run flat tires with non-runflats. Can anyone share their experience with the non-runflats? I am quite interested to hear people's experience especially because the E90 is claimed to be designed with run-flat in mind. Comment on the ride, road noise and handling differences.

non run flat

I would also like to get info on this. I see the boot area of the E90 has no space to fit a spare mag wheel either. This is abummer.
changing the run-flats will require a spare to be carted in the boot.

I can only compare differences between the RFT summer tires and the non-RFT winter tires (both 16").

Actually I haven't really noticed any differences at all. Well, of course the winter tires feel a bit softer because of the softer tread they've got, but it's the same for both RFT and non-RFT.

Also we got the M-Mobility System (tire repair kit) from our dealer. Obviously, it's not as good solution as the spare wheel would have been.

So far, I've felt great about my non-runflat tires. A little less smooth and little noisier on bumpy road, but handles better and especially looks much sharper. In Silicon Valley's freeway system, I can't even tell the difference between two.

Based on a test article at Tire Rack and the experience of a local tire supplier I went to the Avon Tech M550 A/S in a 235/45/17ZR on Breyen Five 17 x 8 rims. IMHO after a recent 1500 mile trip on both interstates and state roads the ride was better (my a** wasn’t sore) and I didn’t notice as much road noise. On a side note I saved 40+ pounds in un-sprung weight and I can rotate my tires every 5K.
Now if I could find a space saver spare!!

Truly a dilema, not having a spare nor room for one. I guess i'll stay with the stock gommista
