Best guess would be late August or early September. That was the timeline for the 2019 lineup. However, there's an order guide in the sticky thread that you can use to price yours out. Those tend to be even more accurate than the online configurators.

What happened to the 40e being available for 2020? If there not going to have a PHEV version then give me my damn 50d lol

Just left the dealership today. I'm preordering mines next month. The manager said I'd be able to place my order but the only downside is that i may not get exactly what I want because it varies based on what's available once they start building. Doesn't make much sense but that's what was said.
I can order as early as next month and production starts in August for it. So I'll probably be going back in 2-3 weeks and order mines. |

People keep asking about the "e" model. This was a consideration for the X5.
I'll be ordering a MY2020, but don't know when I'll place the order. May not be right away. Good to see another pilot here. - AUH |

Does anyone have any updates as to when they will no longer accept 2019 orders, and begin accepting 2020 orders?
I am looking to lease a 50i, and wondering if I should order the 2019 now, or wait a few weeks for the 2020. I priced out the same config for both years, and 2020 was $300 more, but included the glass controls and the recorder. Does anyone have any ideas how the residuals will compare, and how aggressive dealers will be? At least in theory, less aggressive pricing may be offset by a higher residual. Another quick question; Does anyone know if there will be any minor upgrades to the hardware from mobileye for better self driving capabilities? Are there any other benefits in waiting for MY2020? |

All said, at this point, I would likely just wait for 2020 (if you want to order) unless a dealer gives you a price on a 2019 that you cant pass on. |

As far as the pricing difference. The packages for 2020 are different, and standard equipment is different. For the 50i 2020, remote start, soft close doors, and gesture control are now standard. However 5AU/5AR driving assistant pro/extended traffic jam are no longer standard (and neither is heated/cooled cupholders). You dont have the premium package anymore, but you have an executive package and driving assistance professional package. I just double checked, and the 2020 build came out $300 more, but included the recorder function. (see below) |

The orderbook would have to be open very very soon for this to occur. The plant logistics are insanely efficient. For example, suppliers load parts on the trucks in the order the cars will be manufactured. The parts literally come off the trucks (backed up to a dock about 30 yards away) in the order they are making the X7. I hope this helps. |

Since you can already configure the M50i on the German website, order banks should open soon.
Folks at the assembly plant are going on vacation soon... |

Exciting, less than 30 days away from the new changes.
I used the German configurator to spec out a 2020 model the way I would want it, including the new Full Merino Black leather. (previously only extended Black available) Looks damn good. Also tried it with the new Individual black trim with aluminum inserts, and that actually looked pretty good too, even better than the spy and news teaser pictures previously shown. I'd ideally need to see it in person, though, or at least a bigger picture with the final production appearance. |

Seems like the 2019s have hit a bit of a production slowdown, so not sure if that will delay the start of the 2020s. My 40i has been stuck in "Quality Check" for 4 weeks.

Greetings from Europe, first time poster.
I have put in an order for X7 30d during the spring, and asked specifically whether the car would be 2019 or 2020 model year. The answer I received back from the head of products was that BMW does not rollout improvements as per the model year, but continuously and thus awaiting for the new model year makes of little difference. I wonder if anyone here can confirm or dispute this? Obviously this does not extend to large scale changes such as facelifts, new engines etc. In any case, the car is now in production, which is a relief as the cognac vernasca leather interior I ordered is apparently not available from Aug 2019 to summer of 2020 in the Nordics - something my dealer has never seen to happen before. |

I'm on the fence about ordering a 2019 or 2020. I'm leaning toward leasing but there are no good deals right now, not in NY anyway. I'm thinking better deals can be found in a couple of months but by that time 2020's will be available. Will 2020 leasing deals be better or would they be the same as now?
Thoughts? |
