Anyone cross shop the Lexus LX 570
I know the Lexus IS a dinosaur compared to the new x7, but has anyone on the forums consider it? I totalled my first edition 2018 m5 and wanted to try out an SUV for a couple years before a get another m5. Thanks in advance for your input.

Coming from the M5, I would look into the Macan or X3M. Maybe Velar P380. Edited to say that I test drove the NX and LX 1.5 years ago, and had the most boring time, second only to the Q3.

I used to have a 2017 LX570. Driving dynamic is not on the same level with X7. Also, the steering system in the LX is too old and too numb. The V8 is... usable..at best. Hope this helps. Let me know if you want to know more. |

Thanks for the input guys. My wife has a 2016 X5 which, chances are she will be getting a 2019 or 2020 pretty soon. The X5 and X7 are so similar it would be like having 2 of the same car. I was also thinking about a Denali.

Not about the Lexus, but my husband also has an ‘18 M5, and while he’d much rather drive any of his own cars rather than my 50i X7, he does find it remotely satisfying — which is light years ahead of how he ever felt about my previous MB GLs. I doubt you’d have much satisfaction going from an M5 to anything Lexus produces, and I wonder if a GMC product would be even worse.

Lexus more of a real truck. X7 more of a car ride. I wouldn’t cross shop them to be honest. . To the person above. Lexus makes and has made some exciting cars. The naturally aspirated v8 in the LC is a great engine. Not to mention the LFA which is better than anything bmw has ever built and better than anything bmw will build in the next century. Yes i have had an m5 F10 and yes i do have 2 lexus lfa’s Id steer clear of anything GM. Check out the Lincoln aviator if you are interested in domestic

I have been looking at the X7 or LX570 for my wife. Totally different vehicles, the only reason I would go for the LX570 at the end would be for reliability. She just needs a three row suv that just works. We would be buying instead of leasing.
I was sure on the LX570 but after trying out the X7 I am leaning more towards the BMW. But long term reliability of the X7 is my only concern. Pros X7 : More Space Dynamic Quieter Packed with tech Pros LX570 : Long term reliability Low cost of ownership Off road monster |

We are trading in a ‘13 LX 570 on a 2020 X7 that we have on order. We fully expected to replace our LX with another LX, but 10 minutes into our test drive of the X7 my wife and I knew the X7 is leaps and bounds ahead of the LX in every category except off-road capability. Since I have a JL Wrangler for the trails, we don’t need the family hauler to also be trail worthy.

I would also take a look at the new x5M. You will enjoy it a lot more than LX or even X7 after your M5.

you should consider an x5.
they're dealing on them, they're a lot of fun to drive and of comparable size. can get a really nicely equipped one for 70k (40i)...great value proposition compared to a cayenne, for example.. and an especially great value proposition if you are leasing in the short term and want to minimize the cost of ownership til the x5m or next m5 etc. |

Im not really a touch screen connoisseur. The exhaust sound is amazing and the upgraded factory stereo is acceptable. In my opinion Better than the range sport as its not confused on its main purpose. If it was my family car the tech and safety features would be more important.(f pace still is a 5 star safety rated vehicle) My only options were the upgraded 22” wheels, upgraded interior package and stereo. I skip all the safety assists/heads up display etc etc as id rather drive my own car and not a manufacturers algorithm drive it for me.
