Red face X7 2023 or wait for 2024

Hi all,

I just put a deposit on an X7 build today, with a delivery possibly in April. However, I have heard that production will start on the 2024 X7 this April, with a delivery for June. I’m not in a rush to purchase one, but of course, I prefer to have it delivered sooner rather than later. If I go through with a 2023 build, will the price increase for the 2024 build and will my car’s price stay the same? I’m told there isn’t a significant difference for the 2024 but the prices might vary. Should I wait for 2024 in case the tech is better?

Thank you for your input!

This has been discussed at length see below. Particularity look at the last pages within the last few days for the differences.

I also started an order, not clear on when the switch over will occur or where my order will fall. I do not have a VIN yet. It appears they are pushing several 40i's to local dealers before the switch over but no 60's. My guess is they are clearing inventory.

There are plenty of new items available as highlighted in the link above if you wait. The items are shown on the BMW UK configurator to give you an idea on cost and visuals.

For me the only thing I would add to a 40i would be DHP and the new head unit that comes with the refresh and includes OS 8.5 which has increased functionality.

If you order a m60, I am hearing those are all later dates and will most likely be a 24 unless your dealer has an open allocation. That's what my dealer told me.

llolll, thanks Ace6180G07
Anyway as a quick short answer to the question by OP: the MY24 XB7 is seeing around $3900 increase only (but it comes with some of the new 2024 features as standard, like the new iconic headlights). Hence, you may come up with a reasonable assumption that regular X7 will see the same or lower increase yet with some upgrades. If you decide to not buy the optional Iconic new crystal DRL, the price increase will be even less (at least based on 24 XB7 final numbers). And, Ace6180G07 is right, follow that thread to get the latest and greatest in a timely manner.

We should all boycott MY2024 until they prove all the MY23 bugs worked out and all options will be available on all models LOL. When can I put in my order for MY2025?

Just peruses through all 19 pages of that thread! Whew!

Anyway, are the planned changes applicable to MY 2023 40i which start production in April, or are these only for the MY 2024? Will it apply to 40i models or just M60i/XB7s? I was interested in the 40i MSport, but I’m thinking of delaying my purchase for a 2024 allocation.

You have a better chance of getting a informative response if you post in other thread.

2024 X7 - Wireless charger

I currently have a 2023 X7 M60i and I am placing an order for a 2024 X7 M60i. I was curious about the wireless charging pad. It looks like they changed the orientation?
So my questions is did they improve the wireless performance? because the 2023 is super slow and 2 will it still fit the largest iphone or Samsung galaxy s23 ultra?
Also is Ambient air available for this as well?

Curious are you adding a second x7 or going to replace the 23 with the 24MY ?

Aren’t they doing away with run flats on latest model?

That'll never happen. They would have to put spares back in and we know it'll hurt someone's bottom line.

They could also put an inflator kit in the car. That's a lot cheaper than a spare tire with tools.

They could.

Rhetorical Question: Why hasn't BMW added an inflator kit?

Because by only installing run flats, the weight of the inflator kit is eliminated. It's all about weight savings for the CAFE ratings. And yes, though run flats weigh a bit more than non run flat tires, it still weighs less than the inflator kit which includes the tire sealant and air compressor.
Don't believe it, ask BMW.

Not sure if this still applies to 2023+, but on 2019-2022 wireless charger orientation depended on whether you had the heated & cooled cupholders option. With heated/cooled cupholders = it's horizontal; without = it's vertical with a bit of storage space on the side.

I don't buy that as an "official" answer. According to the following, the average weight of an included inflator kit is just 4 lbs (less than the average newborn babe):

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a1...-a-spare-tire/

Coming from a '21 Acura TLX, I had "get flat" tires w/the inflator kit instead of a spare. While it's a simple matter of the sealant plugging up holes in a conventional tire, I don't believe they do as good a job for RFT tires (not possible to go back to OEM structural integrity not to mention the liability BMW could potentially take on). You'd be hard-pressed to find one of these kits for any car that comes with RFT tires standard.
