FWIW, CarWow just posted an article and claim the Mercedes GLS will be revealed "next week" in Shanghai

Might as well add reason #15 why I'm waiting for MY2020, to my original list in the OP.

#15. Waiting for gesture controls to come back in stock.

Stupid BMW logistics. Another minor thing, but what's the deal with BMW going even further into producing models faster than it can keep up with parts supplies?

Am i missing something? What is wrong with the gesture control? Is it not available?

In addition, how do we know that MY2020 will get the 523hp engine?
I cancelled my MY2019 order with the hope that 50i will have a 523hp option, but maybe BMW is ok with the lower horsepower engine?

Yeah, some members here are now reporting that their vehicles are being delivered without gesture control included. I think they're getting a whopping $190 credit. I love how BMW charges upwards of $6,000 for some options and packages. Not hard to tack on $20,000+ just in options on an order. But if they don't give you gesture control, they give you a $190 credit back.

As for the MY2020 getting the new M50i engine, still not official. But indications are that yes, the X7 is getting the new and bigger 50i engine. See this thread for inside information on multiple future BMW models:

M550i 5-series, LCI 7 series and the X5 and X7 are moving to the new V8 introduced in the 8 series. It has been clear that the M850i would get it first, thus the wait for those models introduced earlier.

Reasons I'm NOT waiting:

#14 I'll have an X7 and you won't

#31 Model Year cost increases - don't expect early run MY20's to be discount any more than 19's are presently.

#39 My sales taxes will be higher by July!

Yep! Lacrosse bags, golf bags, soccer balls, sail bags, kayaks...road trips...the amount of crap accumulating in our car is staggering.

I turned in my X5 last Nov, now in a Trackhawk (707hp) and I want every HP/Trq I can get. Power hungry if I have to have 1 vehicle.
I know the power will still be a letdown BUT my family sat it an X7 last weekend, for the first time and said, I want this instead! And I know it will be more comfortable than what I'm driving now.

Exactly right, dmann, and I'm jealous every day on here of y'alls rigs. But I'm still choosing to wait, and saving up my $$$ in the meantime for a larger down payment.

Looking into my crystal ball, we'll see some sort of MSRP price increase for the 2020 models. As you say, I think we'll see discount percentages stay the same at first for 2020 models, but then as the initial rush of X7 buyers drops, and the demand/interest in the Mercedes GLS rises, I think we'll see discounts increase as we go further into year 2020.

I am taking over a lease on a X5M for 9 months and hopefully by then 2020 rates will be reasonable.
