Got about 5k off a 95k vehicle on the lot. I was happy with it to have the vehicle since it was perfect. Not sure I really wanted to fiddle around driving a lot further away for what would likely only have been 1-2k more. When we are shopping the 90k+ price point, the smiles of owning the vehicles are worth more than arguing over a slight increase in discount. At least for me. :-)

You could always get great deals (MSRP and loyalty credits) on X5 and X3 and even the G20 3er at launch because the amount of inventory surpassed the demand. Dealerships don't need to nor would they want to play hardball when bigger dealerships at launch had at last 20 vehicles incoming. In Canada, most dealerships' May allocations are already gone and depending on how much BMW/BMW Canada allocates in April, those are likely as gone as well and past that there are still people on waiting lists with deposits. I would imagine the waitlist in the U.S. is probably a lot longer than what Canada has. Now that's not to say you couldn't find a dealership somewhere in the U.S. where luxury vehicles are not that strong of a seller and deal with them, but there's probably few of those. I don't know how each and every dealership operates and what their reporting schedule is, maybe a dealership is willing to give away all the gross for bonuses or something. |

We'll see but the X7 is anything but exclusive or a limited edition. It's going to be just as heavily discounted once supply meets demand.

It's true that not all dealerships do the same volume of luxury SAV's and some are more willing than others to deal but I was a new customer trading a 17 Mercedes GLS 550 and got a 5% discount for our X7 50i with a MSRP of $106K and an extra $3,000 for our trade so its usually worthwhile to shop around.

Demand does seem high for the X7 at first. But it remains to be seen what the long-term sustained demand is. There's a backlog of people out there that have been waiting for a car like the X7. Many of them minivan moms or dads driving other big 3-row SUV's, because BMW didn't make a full 3-row car. There's going to be an initial rush of those who have been waiting to jump back to BMW with a car like the X7. Will that rush be sustained over time with high demand? Time will tell.

Just not seeing why some are expecting BMW assistance this early for a model that isn't a volume seller and not manufactured as such. |

Lastly, X7 supply / production has the gobal market to satisfy and its pent up demand. That could limit supply in the USA for at least a year relative to the X5. That's 3 possible reasons. Last edited by dmann33; 04-11-2019 at 02:27 PM.. |

The GL(S) in it's best year did as much sales as a S-Class (approx. 30,000) in the same year, would you consider either of them volume models? |

That may be a fair point and comparison. Does anybody know what kinds of discounts you can get on the 7 series? It might take a while, but we could see very similar discounts come to the X7.

This dealer had 23 in stock and more allocations to accommodate my build, first said msrp but just had to ask and salesman worked some magic for me! It was my second purchase from this particular salesman, not sure that had much to do with it or not, but who knows
