Ceramic Coating for Leather

So every vehicle with light colored leather seating I've ever had eventually became stained from denim. Now that I have the two-toned navy and white leather, I hope the navy on the edges where I get in and out of the car will hide most of it, but I've also heard of ceramic coating for leather, and that it helps with that.

Has anyone had experience with it? Yay or nay? Does it damage the leather?

Backup plan: wear khakis from now on and forever

I haven't had any, sorry. I was thinking about trying the same thing. I wear jeans almost everyday and I always get denim transfer, it sucks. I will have ivory seats soon. I did read somewhere some uses this
https://www.detailersdomain.com/coll...and-protectant

You can do some research and see if that works well? I was going to try it. I have used LEATHERIQUE in the past and it does clean well.

Thanks for the tip. I ordered a bottle of the Leather Lock from Amazon. Our X7 has the white/blue leather interior so I'm concerned about transfer stains when wearing jeans.

Do let us know how the white/blue leather holds up as you use it!

LittleJoe me also on the white/blue. I got the Leather Lock Pro kit to give it a try. We can both check back with results. Our other vehicle has Oyster leather so it will need some also. I tend to gravitate to light interiors so it will be good for me to know which of these works best for future vehicles.

Personally I would not recommend any ceramic coating on the Merino leathers. The best way I have taken care of BMW Merino leather over the years is with Leatherique Rejuvenator (once a year) and Leatherique Pristine clean (every month). This is my regime and the leather in my cars look brand new even after 3 years. Leatherique is safe on BMW Merino, Aston leather and also the Rolls.

Here is a post I had on this topic.

Very interesting. Have you had direct issues with denim color transfer that this specifically solved? I do like the idea of keeping the leather natural. Also, after watching the video, it brings up another question I've had for a while (and this one is directed at anyone really). The last several cars I've had are perforated in the seat bottom for ventilation. Inevitably when I put a leather treatment on them, some goes through the holes and leaves a pattern on the inside forever where the (usually oil-based treatment) got through. Even though it's only visible from some angles, it's infuriating. For a product like this, where more is seemingly better, have you had the same issues? I noticed this is a water-based treatment so maybe it's different.

Cleaned up the denim color transfer without an issue. Used to have an opal white 7 , platinum 7 and platinum M3 over the years so really not an issue with White leather. I apply the rejuvenate liberally with a paint brush, did not have an issue with it on ventilated seats yet. There is a piece of fabric between the leather and the fans that are blowing, so you will not be getting this onto the ventilation fans.

Another for denim cleaner I recommend is Leather Master. Keep a strong and light cleaner. Use it for spot cleaning.

If leather is cared for properly it will last for a long time.

As a note, I applied the Leather Lock Pro from Dr. Beasleys this weekend to my drivers seat as a test. No change in leather feel, texture, or color. It went on super easily and had absolutely no scent. So not sure how well it will work, but wanted to post this to minimize concern on how it affects the feel of the leather.

I also applied Leather Lock Pro about a week ago and concur with everything JDBrown says above. We'll see how well it works. I've worn jeans several times since and see no evidence of any transfer stains so far.

Spilled my coffee this morning. Seatbelt looks awful... seats look amazing. Wiped right off like nothing happened.
