Cheap, Certified M3?

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e&rdpage=thumb

Is this because it was wrecked? Seems like an OK price...

Price seems fair but not great. Without knowing more about the repairs from the accident I would be hesitant.

Just a quick search brought up this link: http://www.automallusa.net/09/coupes...assifieds.html where you can tell the price is somewhat in the middle.

Being CPO may be worth a little more and give you some piece of mind.

I don't think a wreck car can be Certified.

i don't think m3 can be cpo'd...maybe they meant factory warranty, cuz it only has 7k miles. price is not great considering one member here got a new left over 08 in june for 54k with nav

Price is right but not great. Did you know it's a 2010 year already? For $14 k more you can get a brand new 2010 M3! That m3 is 2 years old and still have "base price"... should be cheaper, and it will be. I think $44 k is a fair price for 2008 M3.

If you got to bmwusa.com and do a CPO model search, you can choose M models/M3 and this car comes up for zip 93455.

Cars that have had accidents can be certified, but there are limits to the extent of the repairs. I think any frame damage disqualifies it, but if it's just body/paint work, it can still be CPOd.

I'd bet someone leased it, was in over their head, traded it back, and the car has been enjoyed by the dealership staff while they haven't been able to resell it. And once the car had a collision, they spent the $ to CPO it to offset the history.

I would demand details of the accident and repairs since it occurred while in dealership possession. Don't stand for any of the usual "privacy"/"can't release records" crap in this case. my 2c.

^^ most likely what happened.

As per the carfax report, the accident happened while the car was "offered for sale" but there is still no record of it being sold again yet. So it happened while in the dealer's hands and they should know the complete details.

I've been seeing 08 M3s with less than 10k miles going for mid to high 40s.

Cheap and anything M is just not the case. Even if the car were free, the insurance and maintenance are through the roof.

Certainly not a great price for a 2 year old car with no options on it and being it has been in an accident, it is certainly not worth that much!

I'm thinking the dealer wrecked it while having some fun.

I would never buy this car or any used car. I used to be that guy who said, "Never buy new." Now, I'm not so sure. I love my brand new 335...
