For a canadian comparison, I'm 27 in a e92 m3 paying 256$/monthly. Lost my licence twice due to speeding tickets so I think it's an ok deal.

i have 3 cars under my name, 2011 M3/128, and a 2006 civic sedan. So yeah, the M3 costs just under 600 with 1k deductibles. If i were to drive a 1985 nissan sentra with liability only, i should be paying less than 100/year. I'm active duty mil, married, have a single family home w/mortgage, so no, i dont live under my parent's roof, but you probably still do. Oh yeah and I have an 07 600RR @ $120? / year with comp only...so that should bring my annual insurance for all my vehicles at about ~1100. You want a snapshot of that too? Since the 128i is in storage because my wife isn't driving it, factor that out and my annual should be close to 1400. Pic with my PII removed. |

As others noted, your age, driving record are causal, but once married and older the insurance price will be friendlier. Of course, you can always get married now to make the insurance quotes seem relatively cheap.

I'm 22 & I pay 1,851 for my M and my honda accord. 1k deductibles on both.
Seems a bit high OP. Go through EVERY single company that provides auto insurance in your state. I know it's a pain but that could save you hundreds or even thousands a year. Good luck |

As many have said, your premium is probably being driven primarily by the fact that you're 23, have a speeding ticket, and an 'at fault' accident. Take a look at your coverage limits too, and what your deductable is.
As a guage, I'm 25 with two cars on my policy; 1995 Jeep and the 2013 M. I pay about $1125 for the year with a clean driving record. |

I have two accidents and am only a year older
I'm telling you, go with Esurance. I'm saving a $hit ton of money with them and they paid out when I needed them to

I live in SF (San Francisco) like the OP and I pay $1100 a year for full coverage on the M3 through Wawanesa. Geico, esurance, progressive etc. are higher at $1500 a year.
I am over 30 and no accidents or tickets. So location is a part of it but mostly your age and driving history.

Seriously, you are not ready for a M. Try living in the slow lane and learn to appreciate life (even if it's not your own). The last thing I would want for you is to read about you wrecking a M and killing somebody, other than yourself because you haven't matured behind the wheel. Just trying to show you some love. |

For what it's worth, I pay $140/mo with GEICO at 26 y/o, clean record, but New York City (+$$$).
When I was shopping for insurance when I was under 25, I found GEICO to be the cheapest by far. Rob |
