Is this ? Is the price right?

I also read a review on this tire: the Scorpions appear to use more fuel! I was easily averaging about 9.8litres/100km on the old tyres at 41psi - the Scorpions went straight to 10.6l/100km

Do you feel the same?
Hey! Thanks. Those Verdes are different. The Scorpion AS Plus 3s were just released this year.

https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tires.j...omCompare1=yes
So you changed all four tires to 285/45R22,
I thought for suv like this big, it better to have wwider tire for the rear axles as compared to what they put up front. Wider tires will give as much rubber as possible to transmit power to the pavement?

And they look better?

Please educate me. Thanks

Not for winter tires. You want skinnier tires to give you a better weight of car to road (through the tire) for better traction.

Continental run flats we got on the 2022 M50i are noiseless to me? At least compared to the ride in my F10 M5 w Michelin Pilot Sports 😂

Just mounted 285/40/22 as well......square setup....they look great.

Somehow found one place that had literally 1 set of Yokohama Parada Spec X left in stock.

I am also troubled by tires, so I abandon run-flat tires.
I will choose vredestein tires from Netherlands.

I currently have
275 40 22 front
315 35 22 rear
I don't see extreme weather here in the Bay Area. It hardly rains, no snow at all.
We may take car to Lake Tahoe 2-3 times a year just for kids to go skiing.
I prefer low noises, comfortable over performance. What's your recommendations? Do I real need winter tires for my situation? Confused. Thanks

Simple answer is, the summer tires are no good in 40 degrees or less. You make the call.

I'm in the Bay Area too and not worth it keeping a set of winters for the 2-3 trips a year we make to Tahoe. We usually take our other car (with all seasons) or rent a car. Actually planning to do exactly that on our next trip there this winter.

Thanks for sharing your experience. So those stock tires (run-flat tires) are not good for the trip to Tahoe?

Really depends on the weather, if you're driving when it's below 40/45 F the ultra high performance tires that came on your X7 will start losing performance and not work as designed. The closer you get to freezing temperatures it will be outright dangerous to drive and if you happen to hit snow and the roadways aren't cleaned, you are out of luck and likely stuck on the side of the road. I've been on trips where I would've been fine but it's not worth the risk of getting stuck with your family on a trip, or worse. The way the weather is there right now, 30-40F during the day and 20s at night with chances of snow, you can forget about going on your stock tires.

Like other had said, driving X7 with performance tires are not safe . If the temperature is 40F and below get a All Season. I had my own experience driving during snow in Austin lasted year. I'm getting all season this time

Can this be done using stock staggered wheels with 22"?

Yes, mine are oem staggered rims. The wheel I selected has a rim range of 9-10.5.

This looks like a good option, they look to fit pretty nicely

How is the speedo? Combine with bmws built in error margin it must be reading pretty high vs actual speed?

Do NOT ever take summer tires into Tahoe. You will kill your self going through the overpass and may kill someone else along as well. Below 40 degrees, Summer tires lose the majority of tractions, and have absolutely no tractions in any hint of snow. Whatever you do, don't risk your life and other's on the road.

Thanks. I won't do that.
I am thinking to get a set of all season tires with snow chain? What you do you think?

If you are planning for a snow chain, you need to get 20" tires

How are these tires working out for you guys?! I am almost through our second set of factory continentals. We have 16k miles total. They seem to last about 8k per visit and the dealership wants nearly $3,000 to replace and align them. I laughed at them this last time and told them why align anything when they last 8k miles and 10 months?

I want to get the pirellis just to try at this point?!

If you're getting a separate set of tires to use in snow, you might as well get a set of dedicated snow tires.

If you do go with all season, instead of snow chains, I recommend you get snow socks or auto socks. Much easier to go on/off than chains and works better than chains. They just don't last as long as chains, so you'll have to plan to replace them after a few hundred miles.
