Overall I really like it. I really loved the design of the pre-LCI model, and with this I feel they gave it an aggressive look which IMO works well and gives this a bit more road presence.

As for the interior, I recently test drove an i4 with the big curved screen, and while I do wish it was better integrated into the dash I have to say in person it’s much nicer than in pictures. Plus the software really looks slick and gives it a more modern look and feel. It’s got some wow factor that’s for sure.

I don't have an issue with M badging for the most part. Although I feel like out if all the places on the vehicle — they should have left the M badging on the grill to the full M cars.
There has always been 3 rows of seating on the x7
Ahh ignore that part of my comment then. After you wrote this I rewatched it and can see the third row now. Ok so may not so bad after all in that regard (folded seat storage that is). Thanks

This is how I ended up with an X7 instead of an LX600. Lexus/Toyota is moving in the opposite direction in cockpit design. Instead of an infotainment system display integrated with the curvature and flow of the dashboard, they've mounted the info screen front, center and up high like a TV in a sports bar, resulting in a look that appears like an aftermarket add-on.

Yeah I saw that. Looks terrible. I used to have 2007 is350 and remember that interior was so nice. Lexus really screwed up a lot in the past years

The exterior is an all around win for me but the interior is questionable especially the strip lights leading to the illuminated M or X on dash…

Overall many X7 owners calling it hideous off the bat are a little salty that theirs will look outdated near this one on the road. You can feel it.
I just bought a new x7 m50i last month and I was well aware the new one coming so I could have held onto my 2019 Q7 that only 25k miles on it and ordered this new one but I didn’t as I think the ‘old’ one is a much more cohesive design - it using the flowing lines / soft curves language all over in a very well thought thru way. I am not salty because given thee current situation with supply chain and chip issues and two opposing design languages (flowing lines and soft curves vs acute angles and straight lines) I think this refresh has been a little bit half assed. The new 7 series is clearly how this new design language should be executed as it has the same cohesive feel and attention to detail that the flowing lines approach of the outgoing X7 has. Overall I’m not a fan of paying good money for poor design. I will wait a few years for the completely new x7 and then be all in on the new design language.

I bought a '22 2 weeks ago for the same reason -- the current design appeals more to my tastes, and I'm not sold on soft hybrid tech yet. LCI stands for "life cycle impulse", and IMO there is quite a bit of "impulsive" design in the '23.

I don't think the pre-LCI X7 owners are going to have design envy over the New X7. If the new design was a home run out of the the gate the 2023/24 X5 would have the same design language as the new X7, and the X5 sells better than the 7 series and the X7. I think BMW played it safe with the lower volume vehicles to experiment.

One other thing I’ll say in favor of the new design is it’s now distinctive compared to the other SAVs. I usually need to hold my stare longer when head on with the current X7 until I’m sure it’s bigger than an X5. The new one is going to leave no doubt that you’re looking at the flagship.

Well it's basically not much different than the current X7 so that bodes well for it.

The changes in execution fell short unfortunately but is in alignment with the future look as in the 7 series but it's just not as well executed like the 7. I feel the LCI X7 was BMW designers side chick and the 7 is their main chick.

Agreed with others the headlight is the polarizing hurdle. You like it you can lease/buy it… you hate it you move on to something else. Or maybe because you're leasing you hate it and buy it anyway because it's still a great driving vehicle. : regardless it will sell as most BMWs do.

I'll wait until I see a cohesive design which now probably won't be until the 2nd gen. In the meantime I'll drive my pre LCI and keep on smiling

I think it looks pretty darn good with M-sport pro front end and black accents.

I hope you’re attaching 23 X7 pics on the Mitsubishi blog and making them wonder why you care so much too. More people should benefit from all of the value you add.

Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. The new front has a lot of presence. I personally would take a darker color and tint the front lights for a more masculine, menacing look.

I certainly want to see the new design in person.
I just don't get why people word things in such a way to obviously passive aggressively insult people buying the new year. Better way to word things IMO. Your wording was very polarizing.
I don't think he's trying to insult you (I'm assuming you bought one based on your name) or any other 2023 X7 owner. He's just pointing out some odd design elements from the perspective of a current X7 owner. Some people love the LCI design, some are on the fence until they see it in person, and others are a big no thanks.

For the life of me, I can't understand why BMW didn't better integrate the new curved display into the interior design flow of the X7, and frankly, most of the models equipped with it. It's such a departure from my 2020 X7 that it looks like an afterthought. The rest of the interior looks great, as it does in my X7.

It is ugly - but a least the design is cohesive and not a collision of two opposing design languages
