Scratches on the steering wheel logo?
Just noticed this today. It's not very obvious, but visible around the logo if you look for it. Can't feel it on the surface. The car is 4 month/1400 miles old. Assume it came from the factory like this. Will the dealer replace this?

you can try asking and they might do as a good will gesture of that decal is easily replaceable. Again I did have a small blemish as such which stopped bothering me after an year..

pretty sure the emblem is part of the airbag (permanently attached) to prevent it from becoming a projectile when the airbag deploys. to fix this they will need to replace the entire airbag.
this is how it comes from supply: this is supposed to fit over the existing one: https://theismotorsport.com/bmw-stee...self-adhesive/ not sure how it will look.

And the airbag unit part costs about $1000. You can ask the dealer but I doubt they'd do anything about it (regardless of the cost - they'd probably blame it on you and say that it isn't covered if you didn't point it out while taking delivery of the vehicle).
Edit: I was looking at the scratch between the M and W letters. The damage on the silver part does appear to be under the clear coat and BMW should replace it. I don't know if they will, but they should. Last edited by PinkNinja400Guy; 04-15-2023 at 08:23 PM.. |

Those marks appear to be the silver ring under the clear coat having a manufacturing defect. Show it to your dealer and they should change the cover.

Thanks all. It's definitely under. I'll show it to the dealer when I go that way (it's a 50mile drive) and see what they say
