Its all good. I certainly hope we can discuss without getting personal or disrespectful. I think many need to bounce opinions and ideas off others. Lets face it, this is probably the only place we can even discuss this without our family rolling their eyes with disinterest. I have found the G07/G05 forum to be full of outstanding forum owners that really want to learn and help others.

I like the Alpina but I don't think it's worth the additional cost.
I'll keep my outdated M50i that BMW regrets making and is already trying to restyle.

It's a gorgeous beast only thing that throws it off is the dark coloured wheels.

What are the power numbers on this beautiful SUV? I haven't been following this project.

The one with the Myrtle trim was an order that fell through, then the customer ended up buying it anyway. It wouldn't have been my first choice for sure.

That makes more sense on why that color options were put together. I cant see a experienced SA ordering that for the dealership. I love the good old red, white, and blue in a lot of things I own but not in my $150k luxury SUV.

I love it, hopefully will get one as the next family vehicle next year!

P.S somebody should tell the owner of that channel the difference between "Beamer" and "Bimmer". Quite a fail to name your channel like that, unless it is strictly BMW motorcycles related

I don’t know about that. It is true the higher end vehicles depreciate more but the X7 is all new and doesn’t suffer from decades of high mileage and older generations of the vehicles watering down the market. There is a huge advantage of being being a all new design and flagship model. Then factor in the higher spec you go in the X7 line the more rare it gets in total production.

I don't think people purchasing the Alpina worry about depreciation, value compared to the other existing models etc. You're probably not the intended demographic if that is high on your list.

I would imagine they want something unique but not something that screams come look at me. A different driving experience but not too far off from the X7's combination of sportiness and luxury.

Best interpretation I've seen yet from them. All the better as there isn't a genuine M car.

Excellent

The Alpina Myrtle wood trim doesn't work with the Night Blue/Ivory white leather, the regular Ivory white would have been fine. I get E65 B7 vibes from it

Exactly, if you can afford a XB7 you probably aren't worried about depreciation. I'm still considering ordering a XB7 the end of March 2021 to have it delivered just as Spring is popping in PA.

ALPINA Blue and Green should be available by then and maybe BMW will include some additional options. I would option the Lavalina Leather interior if it was available in the US as that would separate the XB7 interior from the X7. One can dream.

Alpina Blue is available to order now, along with Dravit Grey interestingly.

The seat backs are covered in leather and the second row cupholder is covered in leather when the captains chairs are optioned. There's more to it than just the type of leather. If it were available to US buyers I'm guessing it would be a $10,000+ option.

Certainly ALPINA does more custom coach work options. It's a bespoke interior when ordered so.

Just as a background to owning Lavalina leather as it requires special care and cleaning. I have ran into it at a concourse event I was competing in and was involved in teaching a class that day where the topic came up from a owner.
PH balanced soap and very clean/pure water is what is required. You don't full around with average leather products. The pores are very open so it absorbs clothing dyes very easy so you have to stay on top of Lavalina leather cleaning.
He's not even joking about the care for LAVALINA leather. Since all ALPINA models get LAVALINA leather as-standard and it's noticeably of a higher quality than any of BMW's interior leather options such as Nappa and Merino that we get here in the North American market.

Only select, non-salt-preserved cowhides from South Germany are used in making this type of leather. The hides are tanned and then dyed using only natural dyes and it's the softest and most breathable of all of these leather options.

The only downside which can be a challenge for guys that don't want to care for this grade of interior is that it requires regular cleaning, using only boiled water and a pH-neutral soap. Yes, it's very expensive and feels extremely luxurious but it comes attached to an ALPINA and that's usually well worth all of the money spent to acquire one.
