X7 Championship Edition

What is the X7 Championship Edition? I've seen a few references to it online, for example:

https://www.instagram.com/bmw_of_mur...l/Cy_fIMbJaH-/

But I can't find any written information about what is in this $8,000 MSRP package or when it was offered.

I want to say it's probably a dealership special. Now from the listing I can't actually tell if you get anything for the $8,000 other than 2 badges slapped on there. Guess they haven't found a sucker to take this one yet.

It means you have won the championship of stupidity. That is the shittiest badge I've ever seen. Dealership scam.

These "Championship Edition" cars have been sold by multiple dealerships, including Bill Jacobs (which has the current listing) and BMW of Murrieta (which posted the Instagram video). I've also found one prior thread on them, in the X5 forum, at https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2050666. TurtleBoy guessed they were demo vehicles associated with the BMW Championship golf tournament.

from what i can see, its a base X7 with DAP, no prem or exec, base stereo, but the glass controls option.
and different wheels.
so its a fairly bare bones spec with an 8K worth of stick on badges.

It's a VIA option that includes matte black 22" wheels (style 785M, the badges, all weather floor mats, luggage compartment mat, and roof rack. Can be added to any X7 as what used to be called a port installed accessory

Thanks @calbears... definitely a high-margin package in that case! I hope you and the GGC crew are all doing well.
