Brake fluid flush advice needed
My X7 is due for brake fluid flush. A dealer wants $320 while a local reputable shop can do that for $120 or $180. Are there any benefits of going to the dealer? The one I called mentioned there is some special equipment needed for x7s specifically. Is that true or they were trying to play games with me?

For a full flush you need either a dealer diag head or software that can cycle the dsc pump to flush the fluid from the abs/dsc unit. A regular flush will purge fluid from the reservoir to the calipers (not the dsc/abs unit). A bmw specialist indy should be able to do this

If you're a costco member, check if there are any BMW dealers in the costco program near you. You can get 15% discount on service as a costco member.
Around me, with the costco discount, dealer service prices are the same or sometimes lower than reputable independent shops. Plus dealer provide a loaner car to use and washes the car when service is done. Inde doesn't do that. |

I had brake flush at my dealer a few months ago, it was $280 before the Costco 15% coupon. Came out to $240 with coupon. The local indi (that specializes in BMW/MB) charges $250 for the same job. |
