2nd Row Bench Folding

Getting some mixed info and my local dealer is sold out of X7's.
If you have a bench in the middle row and are trying to get to the back row, does the bench fold on itself or lift up and fwd?
Asking because I'll have 3 car seats in the 2nd row, so it's not very practical if I have to remove a whole carseat everytime someone is going into the back row.

It does both, but I believe you're referring to ingress/egress. It slides forward and tilts upward and toward the front to allow passengers into/out of the third row. For storage, the bench seat folds completely flat, offering more storage capacity than in vehicles equipped with Captain's Chairs.

Dealer might be right as the seats if connected via the seat belt might not do the front tilting action as it would be restrained by the seat belt.

This is fully functional when you're using isofix or isolatch car seats.

I have 3 across the middle bench seat.

With 3 across, will it move fwd to allow access to the rear?

It would if you're using latch not seatbelts on the outer positions

FYI, the tilt will stop if there is a little bit of resistance, so depending on how big your car seat is, could be problematic.

you can also select option if you want left side, right side, or whole bench to move. If it helps moving only one side with a smaller car seat.

Anyone able to fold down just the middle bench seat and leave up the mail, left and right seats? I know there is a drop down armrest for the rear passengers’ use.
