So, all said and done to piggy back this thread a little...have we noticed a solid difference in ER vs VRSF?

I too am interested in this comparison. Besides the extra mounting bracket, I don't see a difference. And considering they're both catless, a pipe is a pipe to me. Why spend almost twice the price on the ER if the only difference is that extra mount?

Vrsf doesn't touch subframe on xdrive. No need for washers

I just did it last week.
From under the hood I was able to unplug O2 sensor plug and remove the 2 bolts holding the downpipe in place and also loosen the v-band clamp on the turbo.
Then just go underneath loosen clamp that holds downpipe onto exhaust, and take off bolt that holds exhaust up. It's right behind the downpipe/exhaust connection.
And finagle the downpipe out. Took me little over a hour.
Yeah from what I saw even a turbo swap is possible from the top but I need to try it 1st to confirm. B58 is awesome in so many aspects. So much more room to get to the go fast bits.

I'm pretty sure VRSF and ER have very similar gains. Like someone else said, it's catless so essentially it's just a straight pipe design.

Also, is there a DIY on this? Some say it's hard and another said it was so easy?

What kind of torque gains are you getting on those downpipe only upgrades?
Anyone got a video on the install of DP on 340i?

Is this still accurate? I got the thermal coated part #558990 and I have AWD, and I don't believe any additional washers were included in mine?

I'm getting a slight vibration in the passenger side at 2k rpm, and I'm wondering if I am missing any hardware that would eliminate this?

I done it on the ground like 4 times. Took me about an hour and half to remove and to install. It wasn't fun, but I'm also a smaller sized bitch so that helps when you're on the ground and under the car.

I had the nut on the vband clamp slip out of the pinched area, and then it became a nightmare to remove. I wrestled trying to get a wrench on the vband nut for a few hours before giving up , I ended up using a dremel tool to cut the vband clamp off and replacing it with a spare vband I had off one of my previous diesel trucks. If the incident with the vband never happened it would have been a 60-90 minute job.
