E90 electrical problems?
As I drive at normal speeds 30, 60 or whatever, suddenly all gauges drop to zero, warning lights, including service auto graphic come on, the bell chimes and after about 10-15 seconds all returns to normal. This, of course, happens sporadically with no seeming rhyme or reason. At times the warning lights stay on and the gauges (tach, speed, fuel, oil tem) all bounce. I brought it to the dealer, of course they could not recreate it and said they can't fix it cause they do not understand.
Has anyone experienced similar? Any tips to getting the company to honor their commitment to quality? I am a novice BMW owner, first time, so far loved the car, enjoyed the performance auto school in Brainerd last fall, but am very frustrated by this issue and their response. |

try to remember the driving condition when it happened and record it for proof and show it to BMW.
still in warranty so bring back and have the mechanic do a complete run through diagnostic system check. also check the battery/alternator/wires/anything that might be lose. could only be a loose plug wire.I work as BMW mechanic and would have to say I have not seen a 2007 with any electrical problems like this yet in my shop. Or you might have just gotten the one bad car out of the bunch. _________ Cargo Liners |
