Paint Match 2023 X7

Anyone else notice the paint on the 2023 X7 is 3 different colours. The main body, the front and rear clip, and the fender flairs.Thought it was just mine, but went to a dealership and looked at 4 other 2023 X7s, all different colours and they are all the same. This is very disappointing for this calibre of car. Hard to capture in a picture, looks worse in real time.

Same thing here for my 2023 X7. I noticed that happens to most of my cars. I asked my friend (an exporter of paint job), he said that is normal. Paints have different drying times on different materials, resulting in different colors of the same paint.

Some parts arrive at the factory pre-painted (bumpers, door handles, various trim), so slight color miss-match is common.

Pretty common on most vehicles (but not that much BMWs or MBenz). Usually it not* really related to the fact parts are pre-painted as suggested earlier, but rather to the characteristics for paint when bonding to metal vs plastic components.

Most German manufacturers like BMW and Mercedes have very well reputation in calibrating the paint for plastic vs metal panels to cancel out those differences. I have not noticed this on any of my 3 BMWs (2019 530e, 2019 X7 and 2022 X7). The 530e is white Alpina and has non of these issues. Both X7s are dark colors and they have non of these issues. I also had an S-class and didn't see any of that. This issue was VERY apparent in my Lincoln Navigator though. I don't know if BMW has changed anything recently, but they've had good reputation for years in canceling out and calibrating their paint to now show these natural differences unlike other manufacturers. You will notice that on almost any aftermarket paint when the same pain is used to spray a metal panel and bumper (you will notice a difference even though it was same pain batch).
