Entry level height setting

Does anyone knows if it is possible to set a car that when ever you open door it goes to lowest height and when start moving again it moves to normal air height setting?

In the spec there is something called entry level height is this for entering car or first setting

No. It's frustrating. I agree.

And the fact that the lowering actually gets interrupted if a door gets opened.... pretty sure no one is going to get pinched or crushed 🤪
So basically you have to make an announcement for everyone in the car to stay put until further notice.... and someone always opens the door before it is done anyways.

What I do, and it’s not the best solution but it does save a couple of steps, is this:

I get in the car before my passengers, start the engine, and immediately hit the “Sport“ button.

Not only does it tighten up the suspension but it a) lowers the car, and b) disables the hideous auto stop/start feature which I find inconvenient and dangerous.

So it’s 1 button press which provides 3 important features, one of which lowers the car without having to hold that level lever down, so you can get out of the car quickly and help passengers get in.

I like the way you think Todd but I thought Sport mode only lowered the X7 1 level lower, not all the way to the lowest level. I haven't tried it so I'm asking.

Correct, sport mode is level 2 height. Level 1 is only available when the car is stopped and when manually activated on console lever or display key (to the best of my knowledge and in my experience).

I am coming from an XC90 so this is a feature which I miss. The new Lincoln Aviator “kneels” when you approach. Very cool!

Honestly, if they could make this automatic and the 3rd row access faster, i think you’d have the perfect suv.

So looks like all we need to do each should start complaining to BMW about this and showing other car examples. To me such function is nothing else but software update so in this case we should all be able to get it in.

Could someone that has E-Sys and is on 2019/07.xx i-Step (software version) try changing 'INSZ_EHC_NORMAL_NIVEAU' in HU_MGU (3E52) from 'INSZ_EHC_NORMAL_NIVEAU_3' to 'INSZ_EHC_NORMAL_NIVEAU_DEFAULT'?

EHC is shown as Electronic Height Control and Niveau is German for level. I suspect this is changing the 'normal level' from 3 to 0 or default. This does not work for me on 2019/03.xx i-step but us coders have already found 2019/07.xx has allowed for additional items to work.
