Wheel and Tire Insurance Cost

I would like to purchase Wheel and Tire Insurance for my X7 (Have NOT yet taken delivery)

It appears that BMW uses a company called Safe-Guard Products International for this coverage

Apparently, I cannot go directly to Safe-Guard to purchase this coverage....Can ANYONE advise what this product will cost me?

Is the cost negotiable - OR - can it be purchased at ANOTHER BMW dealer or insurance brokerage...?

I just want to be an educated consumer prior to signing on the dotted line upon picking my new BMW up at my dealer.

Thanks

You can get a tire warranty from discount tire for like 25 bucks a tire.

I put a nail through the sidewall 2 weeks after delivery and had to buy a new continental 22 for around $500. I bought the warranty.

I was offered $2700 for 3 yrs, I passed as well. Went to the local tire store and got hazard warranty for 4 tires at $200 and the wheels are covered by my insurance with $100 deductible

It depends on your tire choices. For a performance tire with I would definitely consider it because of how much easier it is to get damaged and harder to fix. I think in NY it's a very good option to consider. Roads here are pretty bad. It's not just the cost of the tire that you should care about, but the rims. I have it on my last three leases and paid about $1,500 each lease. Having said that, over the last three leases, I probably replaced just five tires and no rims so I probably overpaid.
