Oh my. Just got my X7 40i today. Love it already. Great ride with a beautiful and comfortable interior. I knew I liked it when I did a few test drives but man oh man this thing is sweet.

First of all, congrats. Is it Tanzanite II or Phytonic Blue?

That's a sharp looking rig. Make sure you use the cruise control unless you don't mind speeding tickets. These things ride so smooth and quiet you can get in trouble without even realizing it. Congratulations.

No kidding. During one of the test drives on the highway, my wife nudged me from the passenger seat and asked me if I knew how fast I was driving. As I looked down at the dash, I figured 65-70 at the most. Nah, 90'ish.

No kidding. Was on the interstate last night and was 15 over before I even looked to see how fast I was going.

This X7 drives like a dream. Why the hell is this my first BMW?

I was sitting in the vehicle today in my driveway going through some configuration and there was a 30-40mph wind blowing leaves all over the place. I couldn't hear anything outside.

For a big, heavy SUV (SAV), the X7 is fun to drive!

Speaking of using the cruise control, don't be a D/A like me and set for 80 in a 70 MPH zone. I assumed the speedometer was at least 5% off (common thing, there's threads about it on here) so I assumed I was doing 76 max. Nope. Texas State Trooper did a u-turn in the median and pulled me over. Turns out 80 is actually the new 78. So I was wrong in my assumption on the speedo error. He was very nice and only gave me a warning. This was just outside San Angelo, Tx headed to Austin. So, I've used my mulligan for this trip therefore no more speeding! This photo was taken somewhere in New Mexico in the broad open daylight, prior to getting pulled over. The speed limit was 75 and I had just passed a semi and had some clear road in front of me. The wife didn't even realize we were going that fast (evidenced by the fact I am writing this.) I don't condone this kind of childish and idiotic behavior, but damn, it was impressive. BTW, the sideways pics are something I specialize in. The car is still upright an in one piece.

Lol. I'll find a place to check out how it feels at 100+mph.
