Just use “Hey BMW” to adjust climate

First preview in the UK today.
Its going to take a while for me to get used to the change however not keen on the 40i. It does not look aggressive anymore at the front end? M60i looks better but happier to keep mine for the next 3 years.

I really do not like taking away the physical buttons for adjusting temperature. I am sure the touch screen works well in warmer climates, but it most certainly does not work at all when it is below 0 F (-18 C) and you are wearing gloves.

Also, no real improvement on hybrid technology, and consequently no meaningful reduction on co2 emissions - this is really disappointing for 2022 launch.

I was hoping for a step forward, this is at best step sideways.

I think I like it? I need to see it in person. I'm a poor judge though…I initially hated the G80 / G82 based on pictures but now have a BSM 2021 manual transmission M4 in the garage.

Lack of physical buttons for climate control etc. is an issue for me.

Agreed. Not ready to give up on my 1-8 buttons yet but overall the new styling is so so. Don't love it but don't hate it. Hopefully there is new tech but we'll be in our currentX7 for two more years til warranty is up at this point.

Well it says on BMW.ca that this new X7 will have Bowers and Wilkins 3D sound system and not the 4D that iX has. I'm really disappointed because this vehicle is actually more expensive than iX. And after hearing the reviews on iX system sounding better than Volvo XC90, it's just sad BMW did not wish to consider the 4D system for regular vehicles.

I can understand the idea of pre set buttons and headlights. But your frustration with climate controls is laughable because the climate controls will be on the bottom of the screen permanently. They're always accessible! This forum needs to chill with judging practicality. You have to experience the vehicle and give it a try. BMW have always been better than any other brand in terms of infotainment and practicality. I remember people falling in love with S class because of their "big screen". Everyone is hating on the new S class and their big screen because it's overly sophisticated (loads of submenus and no trackpad or controller) and not practical in terms of visibility (sun glare and coating). Instead, we should really be talking about BMW losing their minds with designing front-end of their vehicles. I drive a 2019 X5 with lease ending in 2023 and I hope to god they better not make it worse for next year.

That's absolutely insane.
To think, the e39 M5 was a true beast of a car, and that 'only' had 400bhp.

Okay, I've stared at the LCI interior for a good 24hrs now, and I can't get my mind wrapped around the design of the new screen. Specifically, it looks like an aftermarket crew bolted it onto the dash. Zero integration with the rest of the design language and lines. I like the rest of the interior; it's not too much of a departure from my 2020 X7 M50i. I can't imagine there wasn't a sane individual(s) over at BMW that looked at the lack of integration and gave it the big thumbs down. It fell on deaf ears, I guess.
